View Full Version : 66.00 and Divx
After installing the 66.00s i had some great improvements in games and such, but when trying to watch some encoded divx movies I made they were all dark and dull. I had no problems with them with the 61.77s. Is there any way to change the settings so that they look more normal? I can't post any pics because when I take a screen shot the entire image is black. Anyways, does anyone else have any issues with divx encoded movies with the 66s?

My video is darker and blurrier as well with the 66.00 drivers. Not just divx though, all of my dvds/mpegs/avi's are darker too. I just upgraded drivers from the 65.52 with out a uninstall and I think someone else had the same problem when they did this as well.
Did you install the 66.00 drivers without uninstalling the 65.52 drivers?

EDIT: Changed 66.02 to 66.00
I uninstalled the 65.52 using standard Add/Remove Programs (nvidia drivers option). I did not use DriverCleaner.
I wonder if both the 65.xx and 66.xx beta drivers have some DivX issues. I mentioned in the 65.xx post that my DivX video I played last night started stuttering after 30 minutes into the movie and would continue to do so occasionally after restarting it and rebooting.
You know what, now I am having the same issues with streaming video. I tried to stream a video over at gamespot.com and had the same dark low level video as I do with divx. It must be compressed video that gives the problem.
NutSack,
Could I ask where you got the 66.02 drivers? as I thought only the 66.00 drivers had been leaked.
Thanks.

My bad, I had 66.00. I was writing my previous message on another machine and couldn't check my driver at the time. Thought I had 66.02.

Oh well, hopefully the 66.02's will eventually leak :)

Hey,
I think I solved our problems. Reinstall NV-DVD if you have a copy with your graphics card, I can't get nv-dvd to work(bsod) but it solved the brightness and clarity in windows media player.
