View Full Version : argh! dang AWP's in CS:S
Alright, I keep on getting killes by the friggen AWP's.. They just squat over on the other side, and aim at the corner.. any movement around the corner and blam, instant death.... aka quazi sniping..
is there any good ways around them? I guess a flashbang would mess them up.. perhaps hopping around the the turn? then you'd probably get killed by his buddies waiting for you..
I hate how it feels the bullets are going around the corners more than you'd expect.. and sometimes it feels like the hitboxes are messed up.. that or the netcode..
I still feel UT2k4 has the best netcode out there.

whats an awp? my cs speak isnt very good.
Yea the hitboxes do kinda suck... :( AWP is the largest sniper rifle
smoke grenade fool... used in conjunction with silenced weapon and flash or grenade :)
strafe is what its about, or get a scout next round, and jump into his viewing area and headshot him :)

yumm (http://www.csbanana.com/csb_fmovies.banana?fmovieinfo=27) .. awps only sucks if you dont know how to use them :P
*btw* you could always try to find a non-awp server
When I read the title I thought "oh no, another (newb) bitching about the AWP". I am glad you didnt though and you are just asking for advice on how to combat them. Well, there is a couple of options. 1. Move as erratic as possible to get close to them. Jump and strafe around as random as possible. If you can *dance* good enough you can get around most AWP'ers unless they are really good. Keep in mind the delay in firing. So when they do miss you thats your chance to attack them. They have a resonably long delay before they can fire again. If they are really good see step 2. 2. AWP vs AWP. Some times the only choice is to AWP yourself.
Flashes and smoke grenades always help too.
Heh,every game has some sorta thing that seems unfair if your standing at the wrong end of things.. Either you learn how to go agianst it or join it..
