I believe Farcry 1.1 does (Correct me if I'm wrong though)
And supposedly Hl2 will have a patch for it when the game is released sometime in the year 2145.

SM 3.0 is enabled in Far Cry 1.2 and there are a couple other parameters you need to add in order to get it to work.

There's a list of upcoming SM 3.0 titles at eVGA's Web site (http://www.evga.com/articles/public.asp?AID=189).

When a company as big as Electronic Arts is using this throughout their lineup you know this model is here to stay. That's one for nvidia!

Fully make use of? No, probably not until Unreal Engine 3, however the Farcry 1.3 patch and some such as Splinter Cell 3 should make good use of the technology for certain effects. But since it's such a new technology, it probably won't be fully exploited until some time. Hell, few games even use DX9 effects, let alone SM3.0.

Thanks for the link Saturnotaku
To bad that Medal of honour Pacific assault assault does not make use off sm3.0,
I just saw a movie off it and it is awesome :jumping:
Anyway Stalker is and that game is also a cool game(atleast what i saw from footage and interviews)

Actually I think it does. But that wasn't on the list for some reason.

Man i sure hope.
that game movie that i watched was AWESOME :drooling:
but then stil the 6800 could run mohpa good, and i also dont think that you will need sm3.0 to run it fast, the 6800 could run it fast enough

SM3.0 is for more than just speed gains. If implemented properly, it can be used to increase the visuals beyond anything we have seen before.

I always thougd that sm3.0 was simply a speed bump but also visual?
that's pretty neat

EverQuest II

Whether it's just performance enhancements, or actual visual advantages... I don't know.

I am hearing that nV might have been a bit premature in their promotion of some EA Sports games being SM 3.0....stay tuned...

the two big ones to look out for are Everquest II and Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth (BFME). BFME looks like its going to make extensive use out of the Shader Model 3.0. Going to be interesting to see how x800's handle it.

i think there will be also games ,that while they will not support Sm3.0 ,they will support FPblending/filtering. in the developers testimonials about the Geforce6800 almost everyone were saying will be using it in their engine. many games

painkiller mission pack have been said to support sm3.0 too.. im really waiting for it. :D

we haven't yet seen anything that uses sm3.0 to change the actual visual appearance of the game, but it can be done. it also does increase performance, but it allows more possibilities and adds to the possible complexity of a rendered scene if i'm not mistaken (i could easily be, so don't take my word for it).

Seems like geometry instancing will be more important for BFME than anything... and both 6800's and X800's do support instancing unless I'm mistaken, so should be fine.

This right here sums it up. Even the farcry 1.2 patch doesnt use sm3.0 ...crytek basically did some tweaking and labeled it sm3.0. Far Cry wont have any true sm3.0 enabled until patch 1.3.....but that seems to be coming out along with HL2 (never) . Full sm3.0 support wont be around till games like the unreal 3 engine appear. Sm3.0 this time around is basically being used to speed up 2.0 shaders....the hardware isnt fast enough to push full sm3.0 very well right now (this is rumored) and as mentioned above...we're barely seeing dx9 games appear. Seeing as dx10/next wont be out till longhorn in 06/07 ...developers are taking their sweet time migrating over to dx9-they know it has a long life. You will see SOME sm3.0 effects in splinter cell 3, and if the 1.3 patch for farcry ever comes out....but everything else listed will pretty much only use sm3.0 as a way of speeding up 2.0 shaders.
