The GF4 Ti series are still great cards :) Even the GF3 series still do very well. My brother is playing Doom3 using a 1.2 ghz TBird with 512 megs SDRAM and a GF3 Ti200 128 meg card. It plays just fine at 640 x 480, low settings. Looks surprisingly good too. Dosent run too fast but still very playable :)

But you already know you dont need the latest and greatest stuff to have lots of fun :)

Very cool looking 5900 on that link you posted too

Boy that has to be the worst Babelfish translation I ever read. What exactly is this article trying to say? Why is the TI4200 coming back? It's getting more and more difficult to find them, I'm surprised anyone would start to manufacturer them again. I mean don't get me wrong, the GF4TI series was one of Nvidia's best and I kept mine for pretty long time... but wouldn't it make more sense to sell cheapo FX5900XT/SE cards instead? They have more capabilities then the GF4TI, including DX9 support.

Yeah, the GF4Ti series was fantastic. I bought a 4400 and was very, very pleased with mine.

It's Sparkle's decision to re-market these... so, it's their @sses... the way I see it, if ATI IHV's can sell a dx8 card in 2k4, why can't NV's?

That's true, if cheap DX8 cards are still selling... why not? :retard:

Yeah, if they vcould get a buttload of these to market @ $59, NOBODY WOULD EVER buy any MX4000's or 9200SE's...

Personally, I think 5600U @ $79 would be a fantastic deal... I know, it's another retired card, but @ 450/850 it's really not that much of a slouch...

The TI 4200 easily beats the 5600U, remaking it and selling it as a budget card would make it a lot of money, it easily blows away the competition.

The TI 4200 easily beats the 5600U

In straight no AA/AF situations it SLIGHTLY edges 5600U, but toss mild amounts of AA/AF (like 2x/4x) and the 5600U edges the ti4200... @ 4x/8x no contest, 5600U wins... but that would only be used on things like UT, Q3, Oni, SS:SE and other "kinda older" games...

The 400/800 (usually capable of 450/850 or higher) 5600U's IMO didn't get enough credit... shader strength was a very weak point, but they were still powerful in OGL ...

either way, the ti4200 is now a low midrange card, it's not suppose to perform miracles... but play games decently, and nowadays, you have to turn off aa and af to get decent framerates for games like doom 3 and far cry. so i don't see the ti4200 loosing horribly on games like those.
