Nice mouse...but how does it compair to a corded Mighty Mouse like an MX510..? The best mouse I've ever used ;)

Don't forget the simple but yet effective MX300....3 button scroller that rocks.

Just picked one up today from CompUSA. The specs on the box are identical to that of the MX510. Will post feedback later after some fps game testing.

If they did a wired version with the laser system, I'd prolly get it.

The seemingly never ending hardware vs software debicale that is Logitech continues abiet not as bad as w/ diNovo MD though. Couple bugs reported by myself & Big Bertha EA:

Notice that while scrolling in IE6 (WinXP SP2) that both the Favorites and the actual webpage would scroll at the same time.

There's a slight "hiccup" in response that'll move a half inch or so down from where it should have been randomly. (happens mainly while fps gaming)

Positives:

Battery Indicator on mouse
"Feels" lighter than MX700/MX900
Much improved mouse charger construction (won't fall off)
Placement of app switcher button
Smooth scroll wheel w/ overall "smooth" operation

While the mouse itself is very comfortable, I don't find its ackward shape to be very fps gamer friendly. Also another thing is the slightly laggy feel between it compared to the MX510 which is most likely attributed more from the wireless vs wired hardware "issue" than to the mouse itself.

All that being said, I still haven't made up my mine if I'll keep it or not. Really would like to see what updated drivers will do. For now I'd say save your $80 for a few more weeks & wait for updated drivers. This is quite a nice mouse but keep in mind its to replace the MX700 not the MX510 & performs as such. Like Nutty, I personally can't wait for the successor to the MX510 (already being developed) which will likely use the new MX Laser technology.

I have yet to see this weird issue you are seeing in IE6 with WinXP SP2. If I click open the favorites window on the side (which I assume you are talking about??) then I can scroll there. If I click in the browser window it will scroll there. If you are talking about the drop down box then I am not sure because my bookmarks are all organized into folders.

I also have not seen this lag you are referring to whatsoever. Is this issue with acceleration? I am one of those hardcore gamers that cannot stand mouse acceleration.

i dunno but my mx700 in my personal expierence is the best optical mouse i have ever used, even better then all of the corded optical mouses, and even the mx510, but thats my opinion

I personaly like the microsoft wireless optical mouse elite, I play lots of fps and have never had problems with it's traking or signal streanth.

If you have too many favorites or do not have them organized in folders therefore requiring you to scroll through them, using the scroll wheel will not only scroll that list, but whatever webpage you're on as well.

Don't think of it as "lag" persay but the slight difference in response between a wireless & wired mouse. I've got both the MX1000 & MX510 hook up currently & guarantee you there's a difference in favor of the MX510 for accuracy & immediate response. btw, I always turn mouse accel off.

I see no reason to turn in my 700. Maybe when the battery dies on it.... till then the 700 is all I need.

The only thing I don't like about my MX700 right now is that I have to fiddle around with it on the recharger to get it to recharge. When I first got it I could just set it in the cradle, but now if it's not in just right there's no charging.

I have that exact problem with the charging/docking station. Also, when the green LED blinks on the mouse when its charging, I can hear it blink. Its like a tick.....tick.....tick. Kinda lame but I too have no reason to turn in my MX700

The charging base is narrower for an easier fit.

Funny you mention that about the lag, because I never noticed any 'wireless' lag on the MX700 either. I did hate the MX900 with its horrible Bluetooth jitter though.

I've been Slashdotted and it is number one on Google if you look up Logitech MX1000 review! Holy crap I created a monster!

Bah, I just got a 510. I have nothing against opticals if there's none of that take off lag. Is that still a problem?
