I gotta admit that I am a huge WinAmp fan... have used it for years and continue to use it both for playing my audio media and burning them to CD. The burn quality far exceeds other free players such as Itunes and others.
I do find though that the WinAmp 2 series produces a better burned CD using its Veritas plugin than the current 5 series does with its Sonic technology. Not a big deal really... just every time i need to do a burn, simply call up my trusty 2.91 and burn my CD and then go back to my version 5 for the updated features.
The only problem with this is that the veritas CD burning plugin does not allow recording of any playlists over 74 minutes, which means that I'm loosing about 2 tracks per CD on average that I should be able to fit on my 80 Minute discs.
Theoretically it should be a relatively simply matter to modify the dll file of the veritas plugin and change the maximum allowed playlist time from 74 to 80 minutes. However I dont know how i would go about doing that.
Anyone have any ideas on how to edit those files, find the time limit limitation and increase its value?
:wonder:
