Asus A8v

I see you have the MSI K8N Neo2 so why do you recommend Asus A8v
instead?

No temperature reporting problems and a better layout. This MSI has working locks but it's been pretty fussy so far. The A8V may not have working locks in the rev 1.x but it's still a great board from what I've read.

Wait.. does ASUS have a socket 939 nforce3?

I would still take an nForce3 chipset over an VIA. If you want native SATA drivers (sata cdrom, easier installations) You can forget about the VIA.

If they have an nforce3 skt939 it isn't on the market yet.

If you have an Nvidia card I'd go with an nforce3 chipset. Nvidia makes sure their Mobo's and cards perform well together.

Also, the Nforce3 also has a firewall built into the chipset while the VIA doesn't.
