Nutty

I took my pc to a lan party yesterday, so I ended up changing my audio mode to headphones, instead of dolby digital 5.1
Anyway, got back and setup my pc again today, for some reason couldn't open up nvmixer.. odd. Re-install latest forceware drivers, and got it setup in 5.1 dolby digital mode, now I have a constant low bas "mmmmmm" through all speakers, as soon as I boot up..
If I mute audio, it goes away, but it doesn't change with volume on the hardware decoder or in windows. If I unplug the optical cable it goes away. Normal audio still works, but with the humming still there.
Its not just interference hum either, its very audible and constant.. even tried moving some wires around and no difference.
Anyone any idea what it could be ?
