To be concise on the matter:
My sister has an iMac with the iSight.... she uses iChat.

I have a PC with a logitech webcam Nx pro and MSN messenger 6.2

As far as I know, the only way to connect the two via webcam is using AO-Hell instant messenger (commonly known as AIM).

I would like to avoid that piece of crap like the plague.

Are there any alternatives to AIM?

Get the Cornell University open source CUSEEME. It is available all over the net. It is free and real clean for open source.

Er...

You start a thread asking about cross-platform alternatives to AIM. The first reply is to download "CuseeMe".

Logically, one would expect that it's a free, cross-platform video conferencing tool - no?

If you need more detail than that, then uh...google "CuseeMe"?

Listen, jackass, if you're not going to give me some sort of useful feedback, I'd appreciate if you just go and jump off a cliff.

Well no **** it's an alternative, captain obvious, I asked to know more about it.
Now be so kind as to shut the hell up and go somewhere else where your blunt sense of stupidity is appreciated.

You were given useful feedback already. Well, useful to someone who has caught a glimpse of those mysterious entities, called "Internet Search Engines".

Of course, I'm joking - I really have no idea if you're that ignorant. You may simply be incredibly lazy.

As it would have likely taken you more time to actually post "I'm sorry, and that is..?" when you could have simply entered the "Cuseeme" in Google, I'm not sure you should be throwing around accusations of intelligence deficiency in others.

Remember folks, when offering Tuork assistance, don't be obtuse by giving the name of the (in this case, popular) program, it's relative cost and its origins. Provide a direct link to the actual file, no matter how obvious you might think it is to find.

I'd like to think that NvNews members are respectful of everyone, no matter how special.

In a similar vein, if you see a homeless person begging for food, don't be callous and simply purchase him/her a free meal. What do you expect them to do with that? Always pre-chew their food for them and instruct them on the proper oral procedure for swallowing.

Glad to help.
