Hi again everyone,

My XP 2000+ should be arriving from NewEgg shortly, and I just wanted to check how the stock cooling is. I currently have a 1.2 gig retail T-bird, and it runs a little hot at stock speeds - 55 C idle and 60C load with the case off. With the case on, that baby climbs up to 64. (This is with 3 additional case fans.)

With no additional cooling, how are the heat levels on the retail 2000+ ?

Thanks!

It will most likely depend on your case cooling as well. My friend has a chieftec case with 2 antec casefans and his XP 1700+ at stock speeds & cooling never breaks the 40C mark, even under full load. It will work for you, until you feel the need to OC and push the envelope. Keep in mind that the stock cooling really isn't meant for that. ;)

You should be fine with the stock cooling, but I would suggest getting something better if your going to o/c.
