I believe comparing a 6800 on a a64 with a 6600 on a P4 to be somewhat similar of oranges to apples.
However the comparisons between different quality settings is quite instructive.

Good point. The comparison was done to determine how each card responded to the texture filtering optimizations. I'll be sure to point that out.

when is the agp version of the card likely to debut mike?

nice write-up but does make sense bout the a64/p4 E...

how hot was the prescott running that you had to vent it off?

This is what Clay posted in his preview.

"As for availability the current timeframe is the end of September for the PCI Express versions and likely another month or so for the AGP versions."

Before the cooling measures, the Prescott had been idling at 50C and under load reached 72C. The temperatures seem to be consistent with many of the Prescott previews.

The point also is there is no PCI Express Athlon64 Setup. Furthermore PCI Express NV45s are quite hard to get a hold of. ;)
