Does anyone know what the heck is going on.

BFG 6800GT 400/1.1 = 11600 3dmark03
BFG 6800GT 420/1.1 = 10500 3dmark03

I get a lower score when I overclock the core higher? Could this be thermal throttling?

My system setup is my sig

ok well I ran it again at 420...now im getting 8000! lol..whats going on?

I go to the troubleshooting tab and it logs this when I run 3dmark03

Silent Running: Stress test transition: L2 -> L1

Im sure this has something to do with it. Anyone know what it means?

It means your card had to drop to "Low Power 3D" mode, that's default clock speeds or possibly lower, depending on your bios. Run rivatuner temp monitor and graph your clock speeds next time you try 420 core, you should be able to see it step down.

I am currently using coolbits 2..is it ok for me to install rivatuner also?

That shouldn't cause any problems, rivatuner won't change your driver configuration unless you actually tell it to. You want to load rivatuner, go to the main tab, top section of the tab, just to the right of "Customize..." is a square with a triangle in it, click that, 5th icon across is a chip with a magnifying glass, click that, graphs will pop up showing core speed, mem speed, core temp, ambient temp.
