Ferrari is poised yet again to win, which should please the Tifosi at Monza, but most fans will simply fall further into their comas. Kimi is fastest, but his track record re finishing races this year isn't the best, and Schumi is in the perfect position to outperform everyone in the qualy and run away with the race.

Villenueve to Sauber? JV to any team? who knows. at least one person (Ecclestone) wants JV back. i'd like him back, the sport needs character, and given a good car, he can compete with the top teams/drivers:

My bets are on Schumi. He has a great record at Monza.

I really love this track though, definately the fastest in the GP circuit.

Barrichello beats Montoya and Schumi .... to the pole at least. it's still anybody's race to win, and with Schumi in 3rd, he can easily take this race. the BARs are still in contention, as are the McLarens. but Toyota is again a joke, and Villeneuve's potential new team (Sauber) qualied at 15-16, and are members of the also-rans. why would he want to go to another non-contending team? after a year off, he needs to prove he can still race. contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on in F1, and if JV can prove he can still contend, he can easily sign with a big team.

The only positive thing is that Montoya posted a new lap record in pre-qualifying (262,242km/h). In fact he and his team-mate smashed the old record which was his anyway. Actually, that Pizza guy broke his previous record last week in testing (at Monza). Of course now Montoya is becoming a master of ****ing up since he screwed his lap for the nth time when it mattered (2nd qualifying). Now he says that his pal Barrichello would probably be a bit quicker than him anyway. But of course he would! Anyhow, it looks like the car can do the times, not sure about the drivers.

Predictions: Barrichello will try his damnest to block JPM off the line just a tad and maybe allow MS to sneak into second (he starts from the clean side). If he is first with JPM behind him, he will have severe pressure in the first few laps, if Montoya attempts to pass him he will shut the door and the two will collide (Indy anyone?). Rubens can do that no problem, they're best pals. Nice trick by Alonso and his almost no wing approach but if raining is indeed coming, he's screwed big time. Trulli's more reasonable setup might pay him back in the race. KR will be hoping that everybody else starts with a not 100% dry setup (as at Spa in case one wondered why on average a Ferrari and a Williams were doing 1:47's, McLarens were comfortably on 1:45's and Renaults were at a lowly 1:49's), that Michelin ****s up again on the other Michelin front runners (flat tires) and the SC comes out whenever a Bridgestone runner's tires start producing (they need more laps to heat up and perform than Michelins which is why Montoya should apply pressure on the first few laps if he is to do anything at all). If it rains, its a Bridgestone 1-2-3 (Shumacher, Barrichello, Fisi).

Well, it's over, Ferrarri first and second on home turf. It was a great race. Ferrari did an amazing job of working their way back from a little drift down the placings. Schumi set another record too, sheesh!

Well, it's over, Ferrarri first and second on home turf. It was a great race. Ferrari did an amazing job of working their way back from a little drift down the placings. Schumi set another record too, sheesh!yah, that was a fun race. lots of competition, and any one of 5 or 6 drivers had a chance for the win, but it's good to see Rubens win. he is a true team player, and it's nice to see him come out from under Schumi's shadow once in awhile. Schumi's performance was great: spinning out at the beginning, and coming from the back to finish 2nd.

both BARs did well, but i'm glad the best driver in F1 didn't win. i don't like him. still, BAR is now second overall. is it just me, but doesn't it seem that Panis has already retired, and his presence is a mere formality now? he didn't even last a lap. Kimi retiring is also funny: he is apparently the heir apparent to Schumi at Ferrari, and was supposed to compete more with the new car, but he still cannot finish a race.

in 2 weeks, the first ever Chinese Grand Prix. i'm interested to see this new course. :D

Weird race. What is going on with Trulli? For the whole season he had the upper hand on Alonso. Now all of a sudden he loses 2/3 of a second? It has to be a miracle (or Briatore). I was counting the mistakes of Pizzonia and Montoya from the start of the race, i lost count in the end. Over at Williams they're shooting themselves on the foot really, they've got a rubbish and an uninterested driver ATM. Nice effort by BAR. I too don't like "the best driver in Formula 1" but he was OK today. Nice to see the "i feel i can win all the races of the season" driver sidelined by a (rare :lol2: ) engine problem. Roll on Chinese GP.

It was a very good race. Although some people might dislike Ferrari finished 1,2 yet again.

Great performance by Rubens and Schumacher. I'm a little surprised that after his last pit stop, Rubens managed to come out in front of Schumi. He was pushing real real hard.

Btw, is it me or I think Schumi just let Rubens win?

I think he let Rubens win. Good on him.
