I have recently bought a XFX Geforce 6800 GT and so far I am pretty impressed with the performance (especially in Doom 3). My current score on 3DMark 2003 is ~11000 with no overcloacks and everything at stock settings. Also the forceware driver I am currently using is 66.31.

I was wondering if anyone knew which Forceware drivers are the best for the GT??

Thanks in advance

66.31 seem fine for me but digital vibrance doesnt work in games. I tried 65.76 and thought they were ok at first but they really have bad IQ, lower res textures and even some missing bumpmaps in BFV. I might go back to 66.00.

I'm using the 61.77s at default settings and everything works fine. I've heard of people having problems with later drivers from 62.xx up. Maybe these drivers are causing problems only with certain systems.

another vote for the 61.77s, they work with everything and look great.

I will be trying out the 61.77 drivers in the next day or so and compare it to the one that is on my system at the moment (61.31). It will be interesting to see if there is a difference in my score for the 3dMark 2003.

i vote for 65.73's. digital vibrance works in games, plus it has anisotropic filtering optimizations.

I have the 61.77 running on an identical card. The only issue I have is the 'screen refresh' issue on certain tasks.

I open the nvidia contol panel, screen goes black and comes back.

I shift+delete to erase something, screen goes black and comes back.

I have run tests before and after and although it apperas that the resolution or refresh rate is changing, nothing is, weird!

However, Doom 3 looks great \o/

Just updated my Forceware driver to 61.77 and noticed a huge difference in performance.

With the 61.31 drivers I noticed that my 3DMark score dropped everytime I ran the test. First time was 10969, 10843, 10745. Not to sure if its the same with the 61.77 driver. Anyway now with the 61.77 driver I got a score of 11560 and consistantly in the 11500 range which is pretty good (considering everything is stock and nothing overclocked). Also the 61.77 driver looks heaps nicer than the 61.31 driver (seems like there is new effects in the 61.77 driver).

A bit off the topic but I also noticed that my card runs really hot. While playing Doom 3 or UT2004 the temp of my card reaches between 60-65 degrees Celcius. Is that normal for an XFX 6800 GT which is not overclocked?
