From the front page, GeForce 6800 GTO.

Dell Dimension XPS (http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?cs=19&oc=DXPS3RS&m_11=WHXP&m_1=M348H&m_29=S222OS&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&kc=6V659) and Dell Dimension 8400 (http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?cs=19&oc=D84RS&m_11=WHXP&m_1=S308H&m_29=S222OS&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&kc=6V658)

If you click on "Help Me Choose" it simply says it's using a GeForce 6800 chip, no GT suffix even though other cards based on chips like X800 XT and X800 SE do have the correct respective suffixes.

If it is a 12 pipe 6800, it's even more of a mutant than the [url=http://www.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=V9999GE&langs=01Asus 12 pipe GT[/url]. 12 pipes (6800 standard), 350MHz core (same as GT), 256MB GDDR3 (same as GT/Ultra) @ 900MHz (lower than GT/Ultra) yet dual DVI (Ultra) but no TV out.

$330 to upgrade from X300 SE, $150 to upgrade from X800 SE, but $120 more to upgrade to X800 XT.

BTW, these are all PCI-E cards.

6800 GTO? Perhaps there'll be a nice Pontiac sticker on the heatsink or something. :D

Actually there isnt much differnece between the GeForce 6800GTO & the Pontiac GTO (Ram air IV).
www.supercars.net/cars/1969@$P...ertible%20Ram%20Air%20IVx.html

for the engine the Pontiac has a Quarda Jet V8 while the nVIDIA GeForce 6800GTO smokes it with its 12 pixel pipelines !

As for the speeds the 6800GTO has 350Mhz core clock while the Pontiac has 370Hp which indicates an advantage for the Pontiac , while the 6800GTO has higher memory clock which is 450Mhz vs 445 ft lbs of torque for the Pontiac GTO ;-)

so in the top speed the 6800GTO will have the overall advantage thanks to its 12 cy.. err pipelines .

nVIDIA 1
Pontiac 0

:D

Ah, but for the 2005 model year, the Pontiac gets the power advantage completely. The 6.0-liter V8 from the Corvette goes under the hood, pumping up output to 400 hp and 395 ft-lbs of torque. The Pontiac will take out the 6800 off the line, but at higher speeds, the extra pipes for NVIDIA will probably vault it to the top. :D

A friend of mine just got one of these today. Its a single slot pci express. dual dvi, 256MB memory, one power connector. Sure looks like just a pci express GT card. There is no fancy artwork/stickers on the heat sink/fan assembly. It has a physical bracket across the back of the card screwed into the motherboard to hold it up and latched onto the top of the card.
