Hello there,

I just got a very fast Platinum GeForce4 Ti 4200SE 64 that overclocks to Ti4600 speed to replace my horrible 64bit FX 5200.
But I don't know how to make the switch. Do I need to uninstall the drivers? Change them?
Can I just uninstall the FX from the Device Manager in windows, turn off the PC put in the Ti and then have windows configure the new card?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

In general it is recomended to uninstall drivers if you change hardware, but you don't _have_ to since your dealing with nVidia cards, they use unified drivers so they support all Geforce cards.

So to be on the safe side, uninstall the drivers first from the add/remove program, then change the card

Good luck with your card, though you should have gone with the 128MB version that has BGA memory. Still, it will be a big boost compared to your "older" 5200.

I got it used for $20 :)

And it OC to 320/650 MHz apparently.

Only $20?! Where did you get it? If I can find something like that under $20 to hold me over till my 6800 in Christmas, oh how sweet that would be...
