Just a quick comment that may be stating the obvious.
DirectX9 is all about exposing the fetures of current and future hardware, not about getting any new found performance.
There will be a DX9.1 etc. as new hardware comes out and needs features exposed, or as minor tweaks are made (Eg. DirectPlay 8.2).

damn straight. MS promised performance increases by updating to DX6, 7, and maybe 8. there were never any gains :rolleyes:

Well, it seems better on my win2k system. I can't honeslty say, I just finished mass tweaking of win2k
