Well folks, it's virtually official. Come the end of January I'm going to be moving out of my parents' place and into a home of my own. Heh, it'll be half my own anyway, I'm going in halves with an old friend of mine on a brand new townhouse in the glorious, yuppie-laden city of Naperville, Illinois.

Once I get settled I'll have to post pics because this place is going to rock with our many computers and surround sound entertainment center. :D

I'm very excited and can't wait to get in, especially since my commute to work will now be cut by 2/3.

Just wanted to share my elation on this. :D

It would be. Unfortunately all the computers would be housed upstairs while the surround sound would be downstairs. We don't have a whole lot of room (~1100 square feet). But it's a perfect starter place where I get to move out and build some equity that will allow me to purchase something bigger/better a few years down the road. It's far better than throwing money out the window by paying rent. :)

o at least hook one..have it on a network or something, have a mp3 player for your entertainment center. maybe hook up some sidewinders, if its a geforce/radeon with tvout hook that to your tv and you got yourself a console

I'm glad you asked. :)

As Naperville is a city of about 130,000 people, there is/should be cable modem access. Since we're going to have so many computers spread throughout the house (4 desktops/2 laptops) we're going to hook up one computer with the broadband line and have the rest on the netowork wirelessly. :D

At last! :D You will never go back to dial up after you get cable/dsl.

Well I have to shoot off and slap some sense into someone who thinks warez is not illegal:rolleyes: .

well, well, well, look whoose coming into the dark nether's sunshine...:D

Awesome feeling of independence dude, you will love it. No parents, you can set your own rules and break em, awesome.

Are you renting the place or actually buying it?? But any how it is great... untill you realize all the "TRIVIALS" which need to get done in a house, which you MOM and DAD took care of... ugh.. eg. laundry..., oh i'll leave the rest as a surprise.:D

Laundry, clearning house, preparing my own meals - yeah, I know all that kind of stuff. Just the nature of the beast is all.

And I'm actually buying into the house. Paying rent with interest rates so low is pretty stupid if you ask me. :)

the key to living on your own is cleanliness and efficiency...and i hear this alot..even if the guys your best friends, be careful when you live together. you can turn into the worst enemies. like with dirty clothes, have a system, don't throw them on the ground, have two baskets, have one for color, one for whites right next to the machine. once you got a good size load, wash that stuff.

Thanks to everyone for their kind wishes. Once we hear from the lender that everything is cool for getting the loan, we'll really kick things into high gear.

I took a ride down to the site on Saturday and it's coming along nicely. The plumbing and electrical need to be finished then they can put up the drywall. :D

Next trip down there I'll try to snap a couple pics of the outside. It's gonna be small, but there aren't many people who are 22 and living in a mansion, hehe. :)

Congrats man!

Buying 'um is the fun part! When you sell them though...*sheesh*
Realtors don't seem to think you are human. I had to argue with a lady about staying away from the house on weekends. My fiancee and I put up with enough during the week, we need 2 days to ourselves.

Hehe..take pictures, TONS OF PICTURES!!! They come in handy a ways down thel ine. And don't take any crap from the contractors. If you don't like it, nag their ear off till it's right. Nothing sucks worse then when you do the final inspection before closing and finding out the kitchen is the wrong color

Like I said, Congrats man, it's one hell of a pride builder..you're gonna love it!!! :D
