View Full Version : Chinese Grand Prix
... in Shanghai China. qualy is tonight (or Sat morning, 2 AM EST). in practice, the BARs (Sato not included) fared well, as did the McLaren's. Schumi was 8th, but he will undoubtedly find the speed necessary to be up near the front of the pack. JV: 15th in practice. hopefully he'll find some more speed.

yeah I expect Schumaker to win...he's fastest today on 2nd practise sessionif Schumie is going to win, he'll have a lot of work, since he's starting in 20th position. a spin on the 1st corner! oh well, nobody's perfect, bet he's as close to it as possible. he must be really embarassed. Ferrari bookends, with Schumie alongside a Minardi.
JV in 13th is kinda disappointing, but hopefully he can get past Sato and get some points for Renault, especially since Button is 3rd. (he better not crash or have an engine blow-out, since i plan to watch the race live at 2AM, and i'll be pissed if he doesn't at least finish). funny, in Ralf's first race back, he out-qualied Montoya. Kimi 2nd: will he finish? and Barrichelo with the pole: he's not the best starter. it should be an interesting start.

they have all been buzzing about how great teh facilities are and having seen the pics I have to agree... it looks fabulous...
makes me all kindsa happy bout beijing 2008 (I should probably be there for the coupla weeks or so i have been informed by my wife)
schumi likely will win it would seem... he has the incentive of finishing first @ every F1 track of his time :)
grrr, my cat is evil.
i don't know when, but my cat sat on my lap, i passed out, and must have slept for at least 2 hours. (i was watching a taped EPL game, Bolton vs Birminghman). she has evil powers. i missed the pre-race show! oh well, at least i woke up for the start, in time to see the best driver in F1 drop down from 3rd to 5th! and Villeneuve up 2 spots, still not crashed or blown up!

Nice to see BAR trashing Renault once again. Not that i like BAR, but over at Renault they're political and talk too much. Alonso shows lately that under pressure he just can't cut it. Though i'm sure Sato's broken engine isn't going to be the last one for this season but still 2nd place in the constructors is definitely going to be BARs.
 Nice race tactics by McLaren too. Their crappiest driver (DC) takes out Williams' fastest driver (RS) so each team practically loses a car but they're left with their fastest driver (KR) whereas Williams has to salvage whatever they can with Montoya (once again junk ****, totally owned by a dude who has been out of racing for what 7 races? And bonus, now he can't pass either). I'm pretty sure Coulthard new that it wasn't that Pizzonia guy driving the No 4 car so it couldn't be payback time for Monza. In any case his move wasn't really on and he didn't just touch the other driver, he hit him hard, spun him around and broke his rear suspension. What an unfortunate "coincidence". What a coincidence that McLaren gets more points that way, and that there's a constructors championship position and a lot of $$$ at stake. Mother****ing bastards
cheers for Rubens, boo for self-procalimed best driver on F1 and BAR. Schumie wasn't involved at all in the race. i'm glad Button still hasn't won a race yet, because if he ever does, his head would swell so large that he'd need a bigger helmet. i'm still hoping for Renault to topple BAR, but Villeneuve would have to do better than 11th in Japan. i think Briatore was hoping that JV would stun everyone and win. oops. since Fisichella is changing to Renault next year, there is a rumour that he might go now, and JV would join Sauber, but i think 2nd place is already out of reach.
3 Ferrari engines scored points, no Toyotas again, or Jags (who are finished anyway). McLaren vs BMW: Kimi outpaced Montoya, but i don't really care about either team, since they are both in lots of turmoil, and have had lousy seasons, with McLaren not producing a car that could compete until half way through the season.
