I'm interested in digitally hooking up my reciever (which has a great 5.1 setup), to my computer, but need to know which soundcards out there have a coaxial or optical jack. The Audigy 2?

Audigy 2 with the box that sits in a drive bay or the external box. Or the Extigy thingy. :p

Is that really the only one? That's terrible if I have to pay 150+ just to get a soundcard with a digital connection.

Get a S-bracket and you have both connectors. Thats what my AC97 came with.

For instance, either the Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 (http://us.hercules.com/products/product.php3?id=39) or
Game Theater XP/XP 6.1 (http://us.hercules.com/products/product.php3?id=36), or Terratec's (http://www.terratec.com) Aureon and
DMX cards. Admitted, the Terratec ones are probably
the most expensive...

Of course, you'd want to make sure that whichever
card you chose could pass a full 5.1 signal out the
digital output port at all times, and I can't help you
there. :D

The audigy has optical out. As far as coaxial out, do you mean SPDIF? You know, the jacks that look like your standard RCA "Left Channel, Right Channel" jacks, but there's one for input, and one for output, and it's for digital audio. The audigy has those as well (On the Platinum Version). The Audigy Platinum has the same Live Drive as the Audigy 2.

Aureal Vortex 2 has optical out! You can probably find them dirt cheap on ebay and since you're not using a VIA chipset with Windows XP it should work fine. :D
