I haven't posted here in almost 2 years or so it seems and i just wanted to know if anyone knows what Beefster is up to? Haven't talked to him since our Operation Flashpoint clan fell apart.

Beefster stops back in occasionally. I've seen him once or twice in the past six months.

It's all different here now. Of the mod team from back then, one went rogue during a thread cleanup, two are MIA (Beefster and eesa), one is an admin (JuiceZ).

There are lots of cool people still here, and several people have migrated to Envy News as well. Just stay out of Other Video Cards and the Linux sections, we're still trying to tame the participants there.

Oh, and @thlon is gone too. Hopefully not for good. Darned compuslory military service.

YAH! I had forgotten about @thlon. My first post was in his tread. I believe it was about his Athlon 1ghz he just got and that he or someone in the tread that had stock in AMD so we sarted spaming AMD AMD AMD AMD. Doesn't seem as funny now as it was then. *shrugs shoulders*

I'm trying to remember who all the originals were, back in September 2000. I remember me, PsychoSy, @thlon, eesa, juiceZ, Corporal Dan, Serath, Exitwound... and saturnotaku? I think he was one of the first. Oh yeah, Andrew too. I'm sure there are some others I'm forgetting. (I know Matty joined a little later, although he's big time now).

And also, what happened to Shodan? That guy was a posting maniac.

Original member #23 right here. :)

Actually that's my ubb member #. I still remember posting back on the forum that was up before that, having a spirited conversation about the 2.08 vs. 3.x detonator drivers with I believe kb244 (might have been someone else).

I think it was Madthumbs and I who joined around the same time a little after 2000. This is the site I and a lot of people went to after 3DColony closed. :( *sigh* I miss 3DColony, although NvNews has been my home page since it opened.

Starscream, completely forgot about kb244. That guy was pretty cool... any idea what happened to him?

Yeah, I'm one of the oldest too. Been here since the previous forum (this one (http://boards.gamers.com/messages/overview.asp?board_id=9947)) and kept here in september 2000, when this new forum started. I was member #1 by then. A little lie, but that was a fact. Eesa was who told me that, it was before you could see your member #. Then the forum was rearranged and I lost my position... was became member #4, ex #1. And now, after "the storm", I'm #154, mr. nobody. :( :'(

Some old names to make you feel nostalgic:
eesaposabeafiahcraka (in case 'eesa' wasn't enough)
Ibanez (Voodoo fanatic)
MultiGL (another one, banned several times, reached version 3.0)
Thumper (one of the first women here)
Aesthetica (the most known one)
Ge_doehns256
HalcYoN (changed his name?)
JonathanM and NeilY (are they here?)
PrimeTGS
DXRaceR
Master Zeta
VTec
ibGoodEnuf
GPSnoopy
legion88
Paradoxx (from Malaysia!)
Battle
Venom
Three Pound Member
Reznor007
JohnReynolds (heh)
nam^ng?? (first nick, hot discussions among the last three, weren't they?)
Rolphus

Enough for now, ok? :P

Yeah, I don't have a incredible mind, I have some really old topics saved. ;) By December 2000, all topics were full of replies by eesa, JuiceZ, Serath and Beefster!

I know Matty joined a little later, although he's big time now LOL, yeah, right...actually I'm super busy over at Envy too, not much time to come here anymore...
Posting news, and doing reviews, ain't it cool! Come and visit sometime, we need some more members to the forums, it's pretty dull there, just technical stuff going on there...

Andrew those those names bring back fond memories, I wished I'd saved some of those threads. It was great fun back then. And I was actually about to start a thread to see if anyone has heard from Tony, still miss him and my buddy @thlon :( I am glad though enough of the older members are still here that we still share memories :)

o and kb244, I remember him too, very knowlegable and koo guy.

I think he's still alive. He completed his last SETI unit on August 9th. By that time we hadn't have any news of him in a long time. But he didn't respond any ICQ messages or e-mails.... :(

Nah, Ryoko wasn't the rogue mod. I miss Ryoko's presense even though he's still around some. He and Corporal Dan could really get a thread going (even if it was in For Sale or Trade! :D )

If my dates are correct, @thlon should be out of the Israeli Army next spring or early summer. I hope for his sake that it's sooner rather than later. If we can get eesa and Beefster back around as well we might be able to make this place livable.

Nope - I was UBB member number 1218, joined January 2001. I think Matthy joined about 2 weeks before I did. As a matter of fact, I was still using a 3dfx card when I first joined. But my former roomate (Vash) was using a TNT 1 and playing Quake 3 on his machine in full 32-bit color was a sight to behold. Then he upgraded to a GeForce2 MX. As soon as it was viable for me, I would purchase an NVIDIA card and well, the rest is history. :)

nam ng - /me shudders. Let's never speak of that unpleasantness again.

*sniff* HUG! This feels like a Kodak moment. I know nobody remembers me but I came back because I missed the old times, you know before the flaming started. The times when 3DFX had their boards and Nvidia had thiers and ATI..... well ATI had.... umm the lower end OEM market. (not a flame, I like ATI as well as Nvidia) Any way I'm gonna go pet a kitty now and get in touch with my feminine side. That means I'm gonna go change the oil in my Chev 1 ton.

Cheers

I have the old UBB member (1.7MB) and thread files (22MB) zipped up on my hard drive :p

I remember using a vBulletin import utility when we first created this forum. Maybe we could start a project to look through the memorable UBB threads and load them up to a new forum here.
