As the 66.70 just didn't get my juices flowing (they crashed 3dmark03!!) I felt we had to throw something out there on the eve of Futuremark 2005.

Of course it would have been foolish of me not to give these a good and thorough testing before posting so I did.

My 3DMark 2001 is fast catching the bizarre high standards set my 61.77
And I just set myself a new 3DMark03 score (13199)

And if you can forgive me for not leaking 66.02 and 66.60, I give you 66.51...

Took alot to make me take a step back from 66.60 but it all turned out to be psychological and they are even better.

Next I am going swimming with sharks! (strangely litteral, ms are flying me to redmond from the uk in november! :P)

So the 66.60's are better ?

Electronic Punk

Nope.

66.51 beat 66.00 in both 3DMark 2001 and 03

oh ok...well, time to try some in-game performance. The 66.70's will be hard to beat, my system loves them! This leak is appreciated though. Did nvidia give you the ok to leak em?

I didn't get these drivers from Nvidia, the ones I have got from Nvidia will not be leaked, but like I said -these are better for me!

I won't be doing game testing. I did 24 Doom3 benchmarks for 66.60 and I am sick to the teeth of it :) - also too tired :D

Thanks for the leak EP! :)

Just one Q, tho. How in the heck are these dated newer than 66.70? But yet they don't have the entry for the NV48?

The way I understand it, several xZ.YU lines are created at the same time and worked on as seperate branches. The higher the Y the more features a driver has, with U being different revisions of that set. When Z is incremented it features the bes of the previous version. Neither 66.51 or 66.70 are WHQL certified so it would be an explanation.

Thanks for the answer.

I think I will stick with 66.70 for now (I installed those before you leaked 66.51). My Digital Vibrance and Image Sharpening is working in games again and don't want to take the chance of losing it. But if I run into a major bug I will definitely give these a try. Thanks again :)

I am just glad there are lots of recent drivers out for the big release tomorrow.
And just in time for the Doom3 1.1 patch- hehe

these werent as good as the 66.70's...alot of stu...stu...stuttering in farcry with these...the 70's have it too, but not as bad. Halo and Doom 3 also score better with the 70's. But hey, I appreciate the leak!

Yawn.

This might sound a bit offensive, but making judgements according to 3dmark2003 is probably the worst thing anyone can do. I don't know if people are that stupid that they think increased 3dmark2003 scores actually mean better/faster drivers. Why on earth anyone cares about such ****ty synthetic benchmark anyway?

Having that said, what I'd like to know about new drives, is that:

1) are the old bugs fixed
2) is there any new ones
3) any driver improvements/features (for example opengl extensions)
4) any GAME performance improvements

Thanks Electronic! Im quite happy with the 66.70 right now but if they start giving me trouble I'll give these a go.

If you want to know about games and other issues test them your self instead of saying smart ass comments like that.

Wow, thanks alot EP. Sorry I was doubtful of you being real in the past.
Anyway, it's amazing how many different versions of forceware are being leaked nowadays, I bet Nvidia is gonna do something about all this.
Till then though, now we need a good comparison between these and the 66.70's in a bunch of games.

BTW: I would test them myself right now but my system has gotten messed up too many times by the UT2004 crashes with recent betas, so I need someone to confirm whether or not those are happening with this version first.

Blah blah blah bitch bitch bitch blue car!!!

Remember children, if you don't have anything constructive to say go drown yourself in the local river, thereby removing yourself from the gene pool.

The guy leaked the drivers, show some respect chump.

Just wanted to say that these drivers really are awesome, they score HIGHER than my previous favorite in DOOM3 (65.76) with visual details in game tweaked for maximum visual clarity (lodbias is -1, image rounddown set to 0, 1600x1200 rez wtih 2x AA I can get 58.9fps in timedemo1)

....and and gave me my second highest 3dmark score of 12607 (but clocked at only 415, my highest score was clocked @ 420/1100: 12645).

The only downside is that I don't see DV working in game for me, but I'm sure that will be fixed in the next official release. Is there a fix for this?

I'm staying with these since DV does work in windows, just not 3d apps; and the performance in both d3d and ogl is just top notch.

Great job!

oh, btw, for testing 3dmark and such, electronic punk, I use quality settings default optimizations and settings. Is that what you are using? Thanks/

These drivers are the best next to 65.73 :). DV btw works fine for me. I set it via colour profile and it works for me, i can see ir pratically in CS Source. Havent run 3dmark or anything but in game perfermance, they give the same fps as in 65.73, but feel a bit smoother. Overall i am gonna stick with these, they have the new profiles for 3dmark05 as well, so why not keep them :D

Thanks for releasing these drivers. Ive been looking through your 66.02 for some time hehe, just didnt get arround to making an acc ^^

I really like these. It's the first 66.xx series that I was able to keep my overclocks the same as the 65.xx and below drivers. Some others (elsewhere) mentioned having a few issues with the 66.70s so I guess I'll just stick with these for now. Thanks again.

Yeah, it was surprising to see the profiles for 03 and 05. I'm glad they did that since it saves me from having to add them.

Edit: I also upgraded from the 65.76s.

Modded INFs and driver (6.375MB) have been uploaded.
I've added support for the 2 NV48's for those with those GPU's (hehe) that this INF doesn't support.

Enjoy,

Always the race for more FPS, but hey did all shaders work smoothly and did openGL1.5 do his home work ?!?! thats the big question every time...
Just take up the game like Full Spectrum Warrior, it crashed in serveral times back to the desktop and when inside the game itself the whole scenery is renderd wrong, the strange factor that many ppl always talking bout old bmark programs and games and not about the latetst games round!
But its looks more that Nvidia is busy with the same driver job like ATI does with their upcomming 4.10 driver exclusivement, if i see the activity round leaked drivers its more understanding that compagnies workout the standard fieldwork...
Nvidia does do other things in making new layouts and new features included!

I tried the FSW demo with 66.60 and didn't get any kind of crashes or glitches what-so-ever. Isn't it a WIMTBP game?
