I have heard since I bought the K8N Neo Platinum that in order to lock the AGP bus, it had to be set to 67mhz in the bios and not 66.

I know 66 is the exact speed for the AGP bus, and I have heard that in newer bioses this issue has been fixed and the lock indeed does work at 66 now.

Can anybody confirm this for sure for me???

I think this is either complete bologne or true in the case of only some of the boards. I didn't get any different results w/66 vs. 67 when I had my Neo2.

Don't know if it was fixed in any bios updates or not, I have the AGP bus set to 67mhz regardless.

btw, Riptide I don't think that prob effected the Neo2.

Which board are you guys on about? K8N Neo or K8N Neo2? I heard the K8N Neo2 locks the PCI/AGP but the SATA 1 & 2 will fall over and will be overclocked but 3 & 4 are locked weired. But pefhaps increasing the AGP to 67MHz may fix it?

Apparently this AGP 66/67 business applies to both the K8N Neo and K8N Neo2.

The general consensus on MSI's forums is that you need to use SATA 3/4 if you plan on pushing your FSB over around 230. MSI has not made any official comment on this as far as I'm aware. This SATA 3/4 applies only to the Neo2 AFAIK.

Ditto.....not that it did much to fix the problems I had with my setup  but I did have to set the AGP freq. to 67 to engage the lock on my MSI K8N Neo2 Plat.

Well using Clockgen, I can now verify that the 66mhz AGP locks works on my K8N Neo Platinum. I would assume the same applies to the Neo2.

Yes, ClockGen reports the AGP being locked at 66Mhz, while the bios is set to 66Mhz. Haven't tried seeing what Clockgen reports with it set to 67Mhz in the bios yet though.

FWIW using clockgen it was obvious I didn't need to set it at anything other then 66 in the BIOS. So I never did see a problem with the lock, at least in my case.
