I went ahead and bought the pro version. The demos are awesome and I wish they wouldve used those as the benchs since they are far more interesting than the current ones. im going to do some testing to see the differences between 2.0 and 3.0 on my 6800gt. Ill post my results later on.

I love 05. They've really upped the anty when it comes to artistic talent, the benchmarks look amazing, and I dont just mean cause of all the effects at their disposal. Compared to the amateur modeling of 99,01 and 03 these are superb.

The CPU test is annoying though, they expect me to sit around for n+n minutes watching the canyon flight at 2fps?

You dont have to complete the CPU test to get a 3dmark score. Just hit escape once the CPU test begin.

Ok I triet 66.51 and 66.70 and the latter gives me about 60pts more, dunno why.

Oops sorry. Some guys already did it on the futuremark forum between ps2.0a and ps3.0 and the scores were within 1 point of each other. Sm3.0=hype :(

That graph just proves what I said, its all hype. Look at the ps2.0a ps2.0b ps3.0 results. PS2.0a is the fastest.

I reckon that the drivers are also not up to scratch.On the Shademark 2.1 (PS3.0 and full 32 precission, the cards fare rather well).

Getting back to ATI's huge performance in 05, the "hotfix" driver adds over 800 points (!!!!!) over the last official driver for XT PE cards. That is an INSANE increase, even if ati's drivers suck so much they can just fix one of their "memory leaks" and get 25% more performance. Unfortunately nvidia doesnt have such bugs :(

The highest XT PE score I've seen was 6886 and that guy apparently blew the fuses from his PSU and so cannot replicate the score until he gets a new PSU :D

LOL.Happened to me before/Large Bang and all went black.Pannick mode thinkhing that my GPU or CPU was dead.Thankfuly was only the PSU.But still

I don't have it personaly.Saw this graph at B3D.Was interested on the comparison of full precission and partial precission more than the SM3.0 tests.SM3.0 prerformance will eventualy improve with time.
I was happy to see that the diference between the FP32 and FP16 was very minor (as per the same conclusion that ChrisRay showed on is prvious thread).

I've never cared about SM3.0 on mt 6800GT. When i purchased the GT, only x800 pro was available so it was a no brainer. Damn, in Australia X800XT PE are still not readily available and when they are the're about AUS$300 more than what i paid for my 6800GT.

GT is really the sweet spot and ATI stuffed it with killing the pipes on the pro.

All these were taken on a 6800GT running 66.51 drivers @ 1280x1024 with 4AA.

Edit: sorry about the crappy jpegs. I had to use mspaint to convert from bmp as png's were still over the 1MB limit for imageshack :(.
