View Full Version : New Nvidia WHQL will be in the Air Soon!

Just plugged this from 'Elite Bastards' its about the Nvidia's 65.75 WHQL

Nvidia's WHQL guys promised that they will finish certification and that all of their cards will get a WHQL certificate in two to tree weeks. This is the ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) so it's just a projection. Yes, this means that around then you should be able to download the drivers from nvidia.com site and we will let you know about any more details as they come.

One of the possible answers is to split the driver for legacy cards and new ones and that would definitely speed up certification, but now Nvidia doesn’t want to go down that road. ATI's Catalyst drivers have a similar approach. The Catalyst drivers support recent cards based on Radeon architecture but don't work on the legacy Rage PRO or Rage 128 cards.

...tree weeks...lol ?

What I find funny is that they have been saying that for the past 3-4 months! I recall reading an article awhile ago when ATI was talking about the WHQL Catalyst drivers and ATI stated that from the time they submit drivers for WHQL certification to the time they are certified is usually a few days. If that's true, then Nvidia saying the WHQL drivers are 3 weeks away indicates to me that they aren't even done yet :)

65.75, sounds old :screwy:

true, when its released it'll be so old and crap that no one will download it, so i'd either reckon its bogus news or a different build will become WHQL.

should be better than 66.70 .... hmmm hope so.

65.75... why would anyone wants that 3 weeks later it's already old now!!

65.75 is between 65.73 WHQL and 65.76. Either way, old news... As you should know we're in 66.xx series now. Pick a driver that you like, or you can do what I do, pick the latest driver I can get ahold of :p

Ever since Microsoft passed drivers with broken Digital Vibrance and Image Sharpening, the WHQL stamp means nothing to me...

I doubt Nvidia will release an old 65 series driver. Considering how the 66.29 and 66.51 are so much faster in 3dMark05, which they desperately want to dominate, and have hardly any bugs, Nvidia will definitely release a driver based on them. Besides, they already released 65.90 for quadro's, and I think they were WHQL'd for those.

Yeah, Nvidia need to get on the ball. ATI are milking the benchmarks.

nVIDIA should consider a count down timer for each of thier drivers release . just like Doom3's & 3DMark2005's ! :ORDER:

From all beta's till 66.81, 66.72 still the best i ever seen of all Beta's.
Nice game tesing with Full Spectrum Warriors includes in every beta driver, 66.72 shows off everything include with some little artifacts in a few games like Codename: Panzers.
I got more than 25 games on my hd's who been a widly spread varity of different typical games, i'd like always test several of them if new drivers work or if they don't.
Those hype round the FPS is nice in Bmarks but in not handle the pure gaming fun with all the ingredients of shader effects and other functional HW
working specs....

So still back to the 66.72, because they just marvelous!
