View Full Version : Fileplanet is making me sick
Fileplanet is making me sick. They are starting to snatch up all the new demos so you have to get an account and pay for thier fast download service. Oh, they have a so called trial service thinggy but it's all the same. Other sites have much better download and wait times than Fileplanet. I refuse to download anything from Fileplanet in fact I haven't downloaded anything from them in a long time cuz the wait times are so pathetic. I guess i sloved my own complaint.
Yes they have go some good demos first, but you do not have to pay to dl them, at least I dont think you do. The last Ravenshield movie from Ubi was only on fileplanet and you could dl on thier free public servers. Waiting in line to dl is another story ;)

Have you tried Fileshack.com yet? Fast servers, and the most I've ever had to wait was 5 minutes.

Oh yeah I like Fileshack very much and 3DGamers.
I just noticed lately that Fileplanet is getting exclusive demos that you can't get unless u pay for thier fast service.

And www.download.com makes you register sometimes to download certain things, I don't know which ones exactly.
A cool ftp for demos and patches: ftp.gamesdomain.com
When I add it to getright, I automatically have about 15 alternativa links, aka mirrors! Nevertheless, it's still hard sometimes to download something, all busy! :(

well damn, who needs Fileplanet when you have Peer to Peer like WinMX, Kazaa, and what not?

That's not the point. We did not have kazaa in 1997 and we still got our demos from any site we wanted. P2P is not an alternative here. I wonder what would you do if there was no P2P. I'm pretty confident half of you would never find a site that hosted the demo you wanted.

Personally, I miss the old days of Happy Puppy.
You said it, fishlung. I miss Happy Puppy soooo much these days. I don't know how I would have gotten trhrough college without them. ;)

Here's the deal. Go to fileplanet, copy the filename. Go to www.filemirrors.com and paste the filename in, and enjoy fast downloading. :D
