How many here cannot get there rig stable when they try
and overclock there GT's core?

The second I try and raise the core up even 5mhz to 375 it will hang
and reboot my system.
It does not do it at the factory 370 core.

Could it be I just have a crappy core?

Is there anyone else getting bad core speeds?

My core would only do 390 with the default BIOS (1.3v).

My core does about 425 without any kind of modding with the stock cooler (don't plan on modding it). However, the GT I have is guaranteed to run at 400 core and it's under warranty at that speed.

Sounds like a psu problem maybe?? Some cores just suck tho so maybe you just got unlucky =\

I'm running a 480watt Antec Trueblue.
Not sure it a PSU problem.

I've never had an Nvidia card that would not
overclock before. :lame:

That is really low compared to what most people are getting. I rarely see a person with a GT running it lower than Ultra speeds.

I just raised core voltage to 1.4.

Now I'm running 400/1100 and it seems to be stable.

I think heat might be the main problem.

Freaking BFG and there sorry ass new style cooler. :(
My idle is 63 running 1.4 volt.

I need to order a NV5 it seems.

Yes, they are just a pain to install cause you have to tighten the screws like crazy and its really easy to break a screw or your card. If you do buy it just remember to make slight turns at oposite corners with a screwdriver and tighten slowly without apply too much pressure at once. They do wonders once you get them on right tho.

Thanks for the heads up. :)

Glad to hear everyone seems to like them.
What I cannot figure is BFG's new HS looks
like it should cool like a mofo but it don't.
2 fans and heavy as hell. I wonder what they did wrong?
I wish I could have found one with the nvidia referance on it.

I grabbed one early on with the reference design and can do like 420/1100 but I'm paranoid and brought it down to 410/1050 just to ensure a little longer life.

What r your temps with the reference cooler?
Man BFG just screwed up moving away from it.

speaking of temps ... does anyone know a utility that will tell you the temp of the card while playing a game. sort of like fraps but for temp

My eVGA 6800gt works just fine @ 400/1100. I left the voltage at stock because I really don't need to clock it over the ultra threshold. What I did do is add a 120mm side fan blowing over the agp and pci slots. That gave me a 5c temp decrease on my gpu and 2c decrease on my processor. At this moment my gpu idle is 53c with ambient temp being 36c. Doom3 run at around 67c.

run rivatuner temp monitor in the background so you can look back on your temps afterwards

I have a GT (350/1000) with reference cooler and I can turn it up to 425/1150 in games without artifacting. With heavy benchmarks like 3dmark or shadermark it starts artifacting at 410+

I have maximum load temperatures up to 82C and it idles around 58C, at the default 1.3V

i can get my card to run at 420/1150 stable with no artifacting or any thing with default cooling however performance increases significantly if i back it down to 410 core clock
