So how do u like the new GT OC heatsink?

How is your temps?

Mine suxs. 63 idle at 1.4 core volt. :(
My highest full load using RTHDRIBL is 93. :fu: :afraid:

I have a crappy case that used to hang my Radeon 9700pro all the time cause it has no actual cooling, but when I took of one of my side coverings and placed a big living room fan right up to the exposed card my temps dropped 10-15C. Without the "case" fan running my BFG idles at around 62-63C @ 430\1200\1.3v(stock bios). :drooling:

With the fan running my card never reaches over 72C when I play Doom3 or Far Cry for ages and ages, which I think is pretty good. I have the new cooling solution so I can't say im unhappy with it.

I'm going to work on the air around the card today.
I'll place a fan blowing on it and see if that helps.
I'm using a Koolance watercooled case with
fans in both front and back on it. I also have the side off.

What is you highest temp running RTHDRIBL?
I do not see as high a temps gaming.

Mines used to get up to 90C underload...but now I have a 120mm fan on the side of my case blowing right over the card...now I max out at 80C.

I'm going to add a fan to mine today.
I think I have a 60mm that I can mount
blowing over it.

Two people with the same exact system running in the same exact room temperature could have different temps if your settings are different. For example one guy running 0x AA / 0x AF / High Performance is going to run LOWER temps than the guy running 8xS AA / 16x AF / High Quality. The more features you turn on, the hotter the card is going to get (because it's doing more work).

Here is what BFG tells me about my heat.

----------------------------------------

We have seen temps in the low to mid 90s. Their was no performance drops at those temps . The shut off is set at 122C and I would not be alarmed till 100C or more
Thanks again and if you have any other questions please email us back or call or live support at 8662343499

What you can do is take off the chrome piece and mount a 80mm or 92mm fan on it.

I thought it looked cool and it seemed like a good HS just from the weight of the thing and the heatpipe on it.
However, after taking the sink off, the real story comes out. The thermal pads that touch the memory are very thick, I find it hard to beleive they actually transmit heat to the sink. The sinks base was not contacting all of the core, and the copper fines looked poorly soldered and are very small in size. Taking the cover off the sink reveals what a POS it really is.

Adding a NV silencer dropped my core temp 20c on load. Im still testing, but I have surpased my previous overclock with ease.

No sir! BFG's new heatsink design doesnt make a 20 degree difference. If it does in a certain system, its a result of bad case airflow. This has been repeated time and time again. The "new HSF" design increases the temps by NO MORE then 4-5c in a well ventilated case if that. I have one in my wifes computer......so I know whats it temps are.
Idle is 53c ambient is 38c

Hrm, mine used to idle at 60C, but after removing a PCI firewire card that I don't use, it dropped to 53C. Room temperature is 20C (68F).

mine used to idle at 64 and under load with rthdribl 81. after tightening the screws on the back, it went down to 60 77. after adding a vantec slot fan, it went down to 58 74

Mine has idled a little over 60 and then reached a load at almost 95. However i've been able to OC it upto 400/1.06 fine. This is with a case fan on it BTW. How high have other people been able to OC it?

BTW: thx for the advice to tighten it watever.

Edit: I just tightened it and it seems to have brought it down at least a few degrees. Thx again

THe Heatsink blows hard, and the thick cheap thermial pads also blows, I took the cooler off and scrape that guey crap off and threw the pos cooler in the trash, now im waiting for my NV silencer to come.
