Time for an HL2 forum?

Seeing as how the doom3 forum is losing less interest every day, and pretty much all of us have beat the game... not to mention there is pretty much no multiplayer to speak of.... Is it time to kill that one and move on to an HL2 dedicated forum?

With the new reviews, the final preload, it looks like HL2 might finally be going gold soon. Just an idea for a dedicated forum. Nobody kill me or anything :nanahump: I've just been noticing the general games forum is quickly filling up with HL2 threads :)

Once the game does come out, I'm all about creating a separate forum for HL2 as a subset of our regular games one. Plus I think moving the Doom 3 forum there would be appropriate.

I think HL2 is loosing everyone's interest tbh with all the crummy delays it is getting, and this is easily backed up by reading recent posts made by some of the members on this board. I think you will find the majority of us are more interested in CoD : UO.

To keep everything fair and square, how about making a poll what game should have the forum ?

Yes... I think as soon as the game goes gold, we should make the forum... w00t w00t! I like the idea of dedicated forums for big games... one of the many things I love about nvnews.net!

Well actually we originally planed to open our HL2 forum back on Sept 30th 2004 but our forum code was stolen so we’ve delayed it another 1.5yrs. :eek2:

Actaully I think we should open one now. CS Source is out. And it is the multi-player part of HL2. Plus from now untill HL2 ships I am betting you will see a constant stream of HL2 related threads fill up the gaming forum (meaning HL2 and not CS related). But I think that now is a good time as we have 8 CS threads already open and I am sure that will grow as people can play CS now (and post their thoughts about it).

I concur. Move the Doom 3 forum and then create HL2 so we can have two subsets instead of having both of those forums on the main page. If you do that, I also would suggest creating links on the main page to those subsets. To see what I mean, go to the CD Freaks forums (http://club.cdfreaks.com) and see how they have it set up.

The reason for changing the Doom3 forum to be a child of the ‘Software Forums’ instead of ‘Gaming Central’ is due to the complaints of several ppl saying they couldn’t find it *cough* riot… For what its worth, I’ll consider moving it back & see about an HL2 forum.
