I need help converting video

I have an avi file and another file that came with it that has subtitles (.srt).

My question is, is it possible to convert the avi file to dvd and have it encode these subtitles? I tried nero vision express, but it doesnt seem to have an option to do such a thing.

for the Avi you can, I'm not sure about subtitles though.
