I can see where some people might not want schools to endorse candidates and use the school for a political platform.

However, the Democrats are firmly entrenched in the public education system, and schools and colleges are regularly used by activist teachers to indoctrinate kids to their belief system.

But at the same time, is this is not just a picture of a candidate. It is a picture of a sitting president, which is common at most public or government buildings.

Had this been a picture of Bill Clinton during his Presidency, I would be willing to bet a week's pay that nobody would have given it a second thought.

So the messege is clear. They don't want to eliminate politics from our schools. They just want to eliminate Republican politics from our schools.

Just reread the article. It is from NJ, so this does not surprise me.

What is funny is that there is a flag, a picture of the US Constitution and several pictures of past Presidents. Among them is the current President.

There is nothing wrong with that. The idea that someone would complain is sheer stupidity. That a school official should harass her on this, should be grounds for that administrator's termination, immediately.

Kerry is not a US president, there is no justification to put his picture up.

The teacher here is 100% in the right, those parents and the school official are dead wrong and should be flogged for wasting our time.

Next time the parents should just keep their kids out of school if they don't want them to learn history.

I'm a bit speechless myself. If the teachers motives are as they indicated, then if Kerry became president, she might then have put his picture up. Who puts up all the pictures of running mates in given elections? Besides, kids, can not vote...

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; this election has become rather negative...

I believe if Kerry wins she would put his picture up, what is the harm in having a picture of the president in a classroom.

The harm is that some people hate Bush and so they feel that their hatred should override everyone else's common sense.

I think those parents who wanted Kerry's pic up were those who have forgotten they came from the future when Kerry was president but travelled back in time to send their kids to schools that have not been screwed up too much in the future.

Sadly, you have just hit the nail on the head...

"To hell with common sense because we hate Bush!"...

This is really stupid. I hope this makes national news so that the upper management of that school can get a nice reality check.

I'm just speechless, if I was the teacher I would've sued the school.

Yep. Along with what you said there... I always laugh when I see the bumper sticker that reads I Don't Have To Like Bush To Love America :rofl

That kind of silly crap is so telling. I have more respect for people that have the Buck Fush bumper stickers than that simpleton BS sticker above...anyway...my point being that I bet all of these "enlightened" complaining parents have those I Don't Have To Like Bush To Love America stickers all over the back of their minivans. :D

I have a carefully nurtured irrational hatred of Dubya Bush and even I think this is ridiculous.. :\

He's president, they have other pictures of presidents. He's president. I think I already said that. He's the President. Just for good measure.

Booo. Hissssss.

I hope she finds another job. Typical that you choose a tough career shaping the next generation and your superiors shaft you over non-existant "classroom politics" percieved by deranged parents. :\

I like the school's denial:

"She's uh.. not fired."
"But you took my keys and told me to get out!"
"Heh.. no we didn't.."
"But you have my keys and I have no job."
"Ummm.. :retard:"

Funny thing is, when I was in school (and I did grow up in New Jersey), there was much mention for Reagan in 1979. It was a non-issue then...

I don't get this tbh, and I'm not really a Bush supporter either. He is president currently, and there are pics of other presidents up there from some indications here. It's not impermissable to acknowledge who the current president is in grade school.

Seen Bill O'reily interview her tonight, I think that schools' administrators are in a lot of trouble. (mag)

Here (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,134255,00.html) is a story about a cop who got in trouble for posting an anti-Kerry sign in his personal car. There were others who had pro-Kerry signs on their cars but there wasn't so much as a peep out of this guy's superiors. Apparently he's filed suit in federal court. I hope he wins.
