I mean GDDR3 runs cool anyway compared to DDR2 Or DDR,It looks like to me haveing though's cloth pads on top of the memory would trap heat and make it a little hotter then just haveing nothing on them.ATI does'nt have no heatsinks on thier memory and it's clocked a little higher and most of them overclock great on the memory.Just a thought and probally the wrong fourm.

Actually Ati do use heatsinks the memory, its all part of the stock cooler but unlike Nvidias solution its part of the same hunk of copper that cools the core.

Anyways I would recommend cooling on the memory, if just to extend the life of the card.

Although I don't know the normal temps for some GDDR3 memory, I would recommend some sort of heatsink apparatus, if maybe not a cloth pad, on it when your trying for and OC.
