i have an athlon 1000 mhz cpu on a-open mother board and nvidia agp riva tnt m64 card.

i have redhat 8.0 as os.

i am unable to set up the drivers as the downloads of the nvidia_glx ***.rpm and nvidia_kernel ***.rpm sources have check sum errors.

i tried mozilla, gftp, lftp and midnight commander for downloading these files. all with the same results.

could any one help in this matter ?

i have had no problems downloading redhat 7.3 driver rpms and configuring the agp earller.

I have had similar problems downloading the NV drivers. Try wget to download it. (syntax is wget <location of *.rpm>) when it stops downloading before the end of file is reached, try again. Its a Serverside problem i think - so many users, too few bandwidth or something like that ;)

Before you waste some time, you have RedHat 8. You are downloading the NVIDIA_kernel-xxxxx.src.rpm, correct? You have to either use that, or the NVIDIA_kernel.tar.gz on RH 8.

I have a similar graphics card and I installed the drivers but my opengl performance is very bad. How is your system performance? Did you try any 3D games? If it is working good and have any tips on how you made it work, please post some info

Thanks

Hi amino911,

I am not into gaming. Hence I am unable to comment
on that.

Sorry to disappoint.
