this thread is a prime example of a poster that doesn't even read any thread headers or stickies. fires up a web browser, goes to these forums, and immediately clicks "new thread". try to take 3 seconds and read a few thread titles first...

I noticed now. Sorry for the re-post.

Just 2 points:

1. The date of the driver folder on the ftp site is 05/10/2004
2. The post is just a few kb, it wont overload the server database.

Anyway, next time i'll read other threads more carefully. (mag)

the date on the folder is definitely newer than it initially was, but the driver dates inside the folder are the same as they were. looks like the only changes are the additions of the pdf files, which may indicate that this driver will be the next officially released driver once it hits whql.

Thats a good theory you have there, but I wonder why would they post it under BETA drivers in nZone? Do BETA drivers every really become WHQL?

Seriously, how could you miss the official thread? It's at the very top of the stickies!

Got the same experience here , full back to 66.72 !!!

Why ??? after unpacking drivers and i got several of them and lookup to the
amount of mb's what those driver versions have i noticed that round the 50mb works well with most programs and games, lower ones had more problems.

61.76 32.3 mb
61.77 23.6 mb
65.62 26.1 mb
65.73 46.0 mb
65.76 26.9 mb
66.00 13.1 mb
66.29 15.7 mb
66.32 57.2 mb
66.51 13.1 mb
66.70 13.1 mb
66.72 52.8 mb
66.81 28.6 mb

If i also look up here for other users usement of what kind of drivers i noticed that those +/- 50 mb drivers been good to work with, lower ones seems more corrupt and have more problems.

It actually counts on what u did use on your PC as Game or as Program, if it still stuck to 1 game or 1 Bmark program u never will be noticed what could change the forfeit of it...........

Hm the only difference between a driver of 30 MB or less and a 50MB driver is the international language support.

Yep. And the 66.32 have the same problem as the ones in 66.81..the entire 66.xx series has that problem.

Be glad they don't know where you live. These guys take duplicate threads very seriously and just might show up and tp your house or put up a big sign on your front lawn calling you a bad name or something!

I did like reading the list of problem the driver is known to have though. Thanks for that.

66.81 is a solid set it boosted my 3dmark 2k5 from 3800 to 4448 and it didnt mess up my NVdvd like previous driver sets

I"ve heard alot of negative stuff about these drivers amidst the rants of how great they are. I was happy with 66.70 but performance in Warhammer 40000 was kinda choppy, with the 81's it's smooth is butter, i can even enable 8xAA, 8xAF at 1024x768 smooth as can be; but I prefer to crank up the rez as the game doesn't play friendly with text/AA (kinda blurry). Anyone have a fix for this.

81's for me, they really seem to play games great and they do opengl near the top of the current drivers as well. A good all around set that kicks but in warhammer.

I found performance for the 66.81 great but the lines in CS:S are annoying.

My control panel has seemed to have changed with these. I have the old-style one back now for some reason, with Direct3D and OpenGL separated, and no way of changing the aniso and other optimizations. Anyone else having this problem?

Did you run driver clean before installing these? Also are you using the coolbit2 reg file? There was an entry in there that turned off the game profiles that should be changed.
