Bleh, did they fix the bug that made the game not fun?

How about the sound? Or the performance? :retard:

Uhhhhh... what Forceware drivers are you BF Vietnam players using? BFV doesnt even WORK for me anymore. It used to. I just reinstalled completely and applied the patch and still no go.

I get an illegal op on bfvietnam.exe as soon as I run the game.

The only major thing thats changed on my system is my video drivers. Im using 66.70 right now. Anyone know what this could be?

I installed 66.81 and it works fine now... well as fine as ever.

It still runs like ass (1280x960, max settings 8x AF and it just feels so sluggish and choppy... 1600x1200 is unplayable), theres mouse lag, the sound might as well not even be there, and it just dropped me to the desktop with no error message after playing for about 15 minutes. Thats about all the fun I expected from this piece of crap game.

Bring on BF2, and lets hope they tortured and killed whoever ruined BFV and then replaced them with the geniuses that put together BF1942 and Desert Combat.

Well, if anything BFV has showed me how terrible the Vietnam war really was. Soldiers getting spawn camped and killed 47 times in a row, mouse lag making it extremely hard to aim, (un-silenced)assault rifles that make NO sound past 10 feet and random crashes leaving soldiers to stare blankly at their desktop

If it wasnt for the picture of my girlfriends beautiful smile on my desktop, I probably would have been pissed that the game crashed. But instead, I was relieved.

I played today and noticed on 40/40 players the lag suxs , but if u drop the number of players u are facing by half (20/20), lag goes down. XTC Team Server was decent, but RNGD.net BFV 1.2 NEWS MAPS ONLY suxed ass. RNGD.net is like using a 3.0 ghz cpu too. It cant crunch fast enough.

Exactly how well is Battlefield Vietnam to run on my comp?

Athlon XP-M @ 2400MHz
1GB DDR400
6800 GT @ 400/1100

I tried 1024x768 with Highest/High/High and 4xAA 8xAF and it chops sometimes. Same with 2xAA 4xAF and High/High/High. If I do 1280x960, with noAA/noAF and Highest/High/High, I still get like 35-45fps sometimes which is really annoying. :bash:

I dont really know, but the game never felt smooth to me and my system is very similar to yours. As far as I can tell, the engine just sucks. BF1942 wasnt a whole lot better peformance wise unless you had a 9700 Pro or better. Some places it chugged pretty bad too (though no where near as bad as BFV).

For me, BFV running like crap isnt any huge loss. When I did manage to get it running well the gameplay just sucked. It looks like they got all of the worst parts of BF1942 and expanded on them.

Desert Combat is infinitely more fun than BFV and I guarantee you wont have the same performance\sound problems.

BF1942 ran excellent for me. This is what I played it on:

T-Bred 2400+
KT266A mobo
2x256MB DDR266
GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB

1024x768, all in-game settings to max, 2xQ AA, 4xAF, and it did 70fps average and never really dipped below 50fps, which was very nice. But BFV is running awful on my 6800 GT. It really doesn't feel smooth. It felt smoother on my Ti4200 (at 800x600 with all at medium noaa/noaf). I get lag at 1280x960 noaa/noaf and all settings on highest, that's just ridiculous. :(
