Sometime ago i have read that somebody has wrote an e-mail to nvidia asking for info about the release of new drivers.
I have also happily seen that they answered.

Now is a lot of time that people is waiting for a new official release so i was thinking if there is someody (maybe friend of somebody into nvidia :P) that could write them for ask informations.

What i would know is not only when they will release the new set of drivers but also if they will be from the 65.xx series or from the 66.xx or again from anaother new one.

I hipotized for a new set of drivers because both the 65 and 66 has their problems: 65 has less bugs and highter Image quality but are slower than the 66 especially in 3dmark05 but 66 has a lower IQ, and anyway both don't reach the 5800 points of the X800XTpe.

So i really hope they have some 67.xx driver ready.

I know that many (and me too) don't consider 3dmark05 the most important benchmark but also if little it own a little bit of importance or both Ati and Nvidia wouldn't fight so hard for win in this futuremark's program ehe :)

Ehm .. i have seen that i'm gone a bit off topic in the end :D anyway if somebody can write the email, please write it ! :D

p.s.: ehm .. but somebodu thinks that drivers can make nvidia reach the x800xtpe level in 3dmark05? that's benchamrk is more based on the poligon count than on shader power, and the geforce6800U can "just" deliver 600 million poligons/sec versus the 700+ of x800xtpe (i don't remeber exactly the number of poligons of the ati card)

ah! that's my first post! ehe but i read nvnews since many months, if not even years :) ciao!

Somehow...(and I could be wrong here...) But with as close as those numbers are to the 70.xx denomination...I wouldn't be surprised if they had those drivers already in development, and are just keepin' a good lid on it until it's ready.

Wanna bet new drivers will surface at Nvidia site about the time when HL2 is for sale in stores !? :ORDER:

About the 05 bench : The X800XT has pure fillrate advantage. Unless there will be games soon with heavy use of SM3.0 code, the Ati card will rule ALL.

and yes, that means my GT gets pwned by it too....

Superfly: i know i could do by myself, if i wrote was because maybe they answer more easily to somebody that maybe they know than to people like me.

Anyway i have wrote an email to nvidia, hope they will answer :)

Whered you get those from?

Long story, but the short version would be "by exploiting nVidia's driver development procedures" - though of course its 110% unofficial and if anyone asks, its just a rumor...
