Dungeon Seige Question?

I skipped a few parts in Chapter 2 and made it to chapter 3. I never cleared the passage to the Dungeon thing and I never protected the Axe or whatever..??..

I made it to chapter 3. Will this have an effect on me beating the game? Do i need to go back to and clear these 2 parts?

Uhh yeah, haven't played the single player in a while, sadly. I think most quests are optional though.

If you mean the 'clear the tower' quest, you can skip that one for sure. I had a hard time finding it sometimes.
