Hi,

I logged to Nvidia's site to download right drivers for SUse 7.3.

The only pb is about XFree 4.1. I must go to 4.2 and on X site :

" Patches shoud be applied to a clean 4.1.0 source tree, working from the directory containing the Xc/ directory "

Is anyone knowing where to find this directory???

No results with find or mc.

Thanks for help.

Where are you reading that you need XFree86 4.2 installed? The drivers work (or, well, I should say used to work, back around I think build 2880 or so) with version 4.1, and actually, the README from nVidia says the minimum version is 4.0.2.

To answer your question, though, the page you were looking at was for the patch to upgrade to 4.2, right? That requires that you have the source for XFree86 4.1 unpacked somewhere, and you almost assuredly don't. What you'd have to do is download the 4.1 source, then the 4.2 patch. Or, just save yourself a little trouble and download the full 4.2 source instead.

Or, save yourself trouble and disk space, and install 4.2 off your distro's website or off rpmfind.net. ;)

Or just leave it and try the drivers, AFAIK they work.
