Hi, I've got a Leadtek 6800 in my Shuttle SB61G2 (250W PSU, only 1 case fan). Here are my temps:

**Leadtek 6800**
Room temp: 21 C
GPU core temp: 58 C idle, 66 C load
Ambient temp: 42 C idle, 51 C load
Core/memory speed: stock 325/700

Please post your 6800 temps according to the above format for comparison. I'm not interested in the GT or Ultra. Thank you :)

**Gigabyte Passively Cooled (Fanless) 6800**
Room temp: -- (Unknown)
GPU core temp: 51 C idle, 66 Degrees after 40 mins of RTHDRIBL
Ambient temp: -- (Unknown - the second temp sensor on these cards gives weird read outs)
Core/memory speed: stock 325/700

Just found something interesting about the Gigabyte 6800; it has only 8 pipes (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=1399988) compared to 12 on a real 6800. I think you got ripped-off.

IMO that's still dodgy. For a $350 card, I wouldn't want to flash and screw it up. It should be correct the first time.

I agree for a piece of hardware that cost close to what you can buy a budget websurfing desktop,it SHOULD be correct the first time!

Nevertheless, it wasn't. As such, at least they corrected their mistake. My personal opinion is that a company that supports their products and fixes their mistake is far less dodgy that gets things *mostly* right first time and never responds to e-mails.

This is all entirely irrelevant to the thread - the gigabyte card works fine at 12x1, 5vp (and at 16x1 6vp for that matter, but that's besides the point), and runs at the temps I provided.

Edit: You are right though - for the price I paid I did expect everything to be right when I got the card. Ahh well, now it works like a dream, and is in fact quieter than my old MX 460. It really is a FANTASTIC card, as soon as you've flashed it to the BIOS that it really should have had in the frist place.

Don't believe that post of 10C idle and 12C load, theres no way you have temps that low. Can't believe after he says he's not interested in GT or Ultra temps some idiot posts his temp anyway. :bash:
