Sorry to hear it. I would recommend getting a replacement but then again you could loose that great memory overclock.

you've got a couple of options, since the card is still under warranty you could send it back and get it repaired/replaced....or, take this as the perfect opportunity to upgrade your video card cooling system and getting a nv5 silencer ^_^
No, he overclocked his 6800NU and he softmodded it to 16/6 from 12/5.
I'm sorry to hear it also.

There is only one NV Silencer 5. It fits every card in the 6800 series from the LE to Ultra. I got mine from www.3dcool.com for $30. Here is the link http://www.3dcool.com/?module=product&sku=AVC-NV5

Make sure it's the fan that's bad. Did you try to power it up with an external source?

Ya I tried directly connecting it to the power supply.

if you are sure it is the fan, you are lucky. update teh cooling to arctic cooling 5, and add another few clicks to that clock.

With that much money, I think you could have gotten an SLI system of 2 6800 GTs.

did it die as a result of unlocking all that extra ****????

Why would unlocking pipelines effect a fan failure? Put 2 and 2 together guys, It had nothing to do with the soft mod. The fan failed and the card exceeded 140C and died. Its pretty simple.

That being said I am stuck on a 9800 Pro for now..

Radeon 9800? My GT is already giving me a wonderful checkerboard effect every now and then. When it does finally flop I'll be stuck with a 64mb Radeon 9000. I might have killed mine with 1.4v though.
