Hi people,

nVida just released a new driver set for us - 61.82 to be precise. Download and let us all know how they work for you. Weird that its not a rel65 driver hey? Anyways, link is below...

WHQL? So does the file say, files dated 29/09/04 and WHQL'ed on 05/10/04

Please report, thanks.

Thanks for the heads-up. Too lazy to give this a shot though. 66.70's are working great for me, HUGE gains, great I.Q....no need for an update here. =) Odd numbering scheme....

This is starting to become a daily ritual, thx for the link ;)

yeah.. getting a bit too much.
I'll be happy the day they stop clinging to the romance of a "unified driver". Just BS and not practical if you ask me. Just like in the hay days no one should optimize for a single application because it's bad.. no it's not it's great, more speed, just make sure you don't drop the IQ.

I'm not trying out any more drivers, official drivers that work flawlessly and I can DL from their web page, until then it's 65.73.

With how slow it takes nvidia to get official drivers out, it's nice to get beta's weekly, than get nothing for 4 months at a time though? Eh? =)

true Ultimate but it still getting too much of waiting here and too many betas. There's like this invisible line which you have to find and it's definately been crossed now.

Yeah, I agree that it's been ridiculously long now since an official set has been released, especially since the debut of the 6800 the 61.76/77's are the only set nvidia has put out....that's not very good support for a new card. Also the 61.76/77's arent whql'd for older cards like the fx/ti series, which means everyone is in a stump. But still, even though it's been way too long since an official release, at least we get beta's quite often. Imagine if since July 27th when the 61.77's were released, we hadn't got a single leak...these boards would really be filled with complaining....at least the betas give us something to test and show us performance improvements that we hopefully get to look forward to with an official release....but you're right...enough beta's already-give us something official we can all d/l on nvidia.com

ok...211 views...anyone try them out? What's the verdict?

I am using the WHQL 61.76 drivers (from Nvidia's site) on my FX card and my wife's TI4200. The drivers are indeed WHQL for both.

As far as I know, the 61.77 drivers are not WHQL certified for any chipsets.

@ Ultimate17

Im always game for trying a new driver..........this one is quite interesting - a 60 series driver yet the files are dated later than most 65 seies beta's.

gotta be something worth looking @

i'll be back l8trs.

7KBps ewwwwwwww, mirror?

10-11-04, 03:11 PM
cool...I await your results =)

10-11-04, 03:12 PM
I'm definitely not going back to a 61.xx driver, the 66.81 works very well except for with UT2004.

10-11-04, 03:18 PM
I switched to these from 61.76 on my FX5700 in hopes that some graphical glitches in FFXI were fixed. Alas, they are not.

Otherwise everything seems the same to me so far.

10-11-04, 03:22 PM
These drivers are dated the 29th of last month. I'll install them on my somewhat broken card and so how it goes...

10-11-04, 03:23 PM
Do these drivers have game profiles? If the do I will give them a try and give results.

10-11-04, 03:24 PM
Bummer, I was hoping these were official drivers.

10-11-04, 03:28 PM
can someone mirror these? the ftp is so slow at the mo :(

10-11-04, 03:54 PM
Can't wait now for 62.82 and 63.82 and 64.82 and 65.82 and 67.82........

10-11-04, 03:57 PM
they are rather lame on my 6800 - 800 points down in '05, artifacts on test 2.

gave up and uninstalled them.

back to 66.72 for me.

Game profiles have been available for quite a while so I'm sure these have them also.

10-11-04, 05:39 PM
Do these still have the line issue in CS:S?

10-11-04, 06:25 PM
I just installed 65.73 and they seem to have gotten rid of the lines in CS:S. Doom and farcry run great too with them. Not sure of any fps difference between them and 66.81.

10-11-04, 06:44 PM
Ok... what about the 61.82?

10-11-04, 07:06 PM
are we not discussing the 61.82's jesus were not discussing 66.82's or 65.73's.
Why cant people stay on topic?
