View Full Version : Is the fx 5900 capable of running the nalu demo?

I downloaded it and all I see is a black screen with the menus and that's about it. I got some white light going around but I dont' see a mermaid. :/

I'm using the 61.77 fw drivers btw. D:

I thought there was some kind of NV40 software emulator that allowed the demo to run, but kinda slow. Thought I read that here somewhere but might be wrong (popcorn)

Yes with rivatuner u can use emulatenv40 function but...it will be a slide show since eevrything that is nv40 speciic will be done by CPU

thast because the Nalu demo was meant to highlight the SM3.0 capabilties for the NV40 ...so man theres a ton of things the demo wanst but the fx 5900 cannot give..

Well I figured that my car wouldn't be able to do much of the new stuff, but I guess I'll just run the emulator and see the slide show.

I've tried emulating a NV40 using Rivatuner but only the galleon demo worked for me.

The only nv40 demo that works on the nv3x is clearsailing. It doesn't even run bad on my 5900xt.

The FX 5900 is junk. Get rid of it and buy a real card like a 6800nu or 6800 GT.
