What are some of the best LCD monitors today in the 20-25 inch range? I'd really appreciate if someone can drop a few names/models.

Dell 2001FP is an excellent deal for the $$$. Rage3d deals section had it for $679 shipped yesterday. You might checkit out, 16ms 20.1" viewable and 1600x1200 native resolution.

Thank you guys. L2335 native res is 1920 x 1200, hehe I think i'm gonna need SLI Ultras to keep that puppy running smooth. |JuiceZ| whats ur take on Viewsonic VP201s? How does it stand against Dell 2001FP model?

What happened to the anouncement that LCD makers had started building 8ms displays?

It’s the best monitor I’ve ever owned. You really can’t go wrong with either one & seeing as how the 2001FP can be had for under $700 shipped, financially speaking, it would prolly be the better choice at the moment. Many intially claimed Dell & Viewsonic both used the same panels but this theory has since been dispelled. Regardless, looking at them side-by-side you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. Clear, crisp iq for 2d & extremely miminial ghosting @ 16ms that’s actually hard to detect. Any monitor over 17” are still infected w/ the “screendoor” effect, that’s truly only visible if your eyes are 2inches from the screen, in other words, I wouldn’t worry about it.

Quick note though, the inquirer & other more repitable sites have made posts that the prices of LCD will be falling more and more throughout Q4 of this year due to overstocking. Just something to keep in mind.

btw, the HP L2335 is quite a beast. Saw one on display @ CompUSA, think it requires dual-dvi like the new Apple LCD models, which are also 16ms ;)

They have but the process of going from R&D to manufacturing to eventually retail availibility can take quite a while sometimes.

Hey you guys didn't suggest the Apple Cinema Displays! Why not? I always here that they are some of the best monitors out there. They are compatible with PC's so thats not a problem...

I like BenQ, NEC, Samsung, Sony, and Viewsonic. NEC seems to be the one everyone likes the best tho. Samsung is the one I like.

I'm familar with LCD displays, I currently have a 17' Hitachi, can't complain. Even in gaming ghosting is minimal. I'm probably going to try Viewsonic VP201s. Thanks again guys.

I've had my 2001FP for about six months now, and it's spectacular. No ghosting that I can notice, and the 1600x1200 native resolution is a must for those hi-res gamers.

The kicker is that when I bought mine, Dell accidentally shipped me two and never asked for the extra one back. Running dual 2001FP monitors is spectacular
