No, it is a regular 6800 NU with more memory:

Specifications:
Chipset/Core Speed: nVIDIA GeForce 6800/325MHz
Memory/Effective Speed: 256MB GDDR3/700MHz

Although it says GDD3 it is only rated at 700 Mhz, kinda odd.

So basically a bit of a souped up 6800NU, although not by much. Better off finding a regular GT for a tad bit more or a regular NU for $50 less I would say.

Thanks ihiktacos,
I thought $325 was a little low.
That dual power connect threw me off.

Hmm, interesting... Gainward also has one of these cards... an Ultra/2200... it's hard to find though...

Soft mod w00t!?!? :p:p

Me wonders how it would perform against a standard X800 Pro...

actually I didn't even see the two power connectors. :)

I wonder if they put the memory down at 700 Mhz for a reason. Who knows you might be able to overclock it easily. Sounds like this is very similar to the ASUS line with their confusing strategies of changing names/specs.

If you do get this and you can softmod it to 16,6vp, plus the memory is actually fast (1000 Mhz or so) you would have a great deal though :)

I think I'll wait n think on it some more
I usually get burned on "good deals" lol

Hey ragejg, how does your 64 bit system compare to the 32 you had?
Would you recommend a 64 over a 32?
I been waiting till you had some time with it to ask.

Cstring, it's quite a bit nimbler in certain aspects... not a huge upgrade, but still a step up... cuz honestly at the time I had it, an nforce2 with a mobile barton 2400 @ 2.4ghz a gig of ram and a 5900XT was a smokin combination... I don't feel quite so smokin anymore... but I will once I sell this stuff and go 939...

Back to topic, this card is intersting to me... ;) I'd sure like to review one ;)

Thanks a ton ragejg.
I was debating weather or not to upgade, I'll wait then.

Yeah, I been really hashing over getting this.
I am gonna get an ultra, so if this thing can be soft modded
to 1 16, I may part with some cash.

Hey eVGA, give ragejg one of these to review!

I havent tested it, or havent seen it tested but
one of the people who bought one left this comment

It's a great card, but! the card may overclock to near GT and Ultra speeds, but remember it still only has 12 pipes instead of 16, which comes into play at higher resoltions and settings"

If you see those two black things on the bottom, both of those are molex connectors. Do you see them? Are these even real pictures of it or are they posted by error?

Yup thats the actual card. I checked evga.com and couldnt find this version. But after reading newegg customer reviews I came to the conclusion that this is actually a regular 6800 based on the Ultra PCB. But then again it only has 12 pipes which is enough for gamers who do 1078x768 with max settings.

have you people read that it has 16 pipelines unlocked from factory?(from the other anandtech forum)

"have you people read that it has 16 pipelines unlocked from factory?"

Nope, I was more interested in what it has/runs at default.

Its kind of tricky looking, dual power connectors, and the hs/fan, the way some companies do business these days has to make me stop and think hard.

Maybe ragejg will get hold of one of these beasts and review it for us. (-:

what power source is needed for this beast?
a thermaltake purepower 420 w is enough?

I would think that would be enough.
TT makes kick (_|_) power supplies.
I have a TT silent power 480 on 2 of my pc's
and they'll pull anything I throw at them.

OCZ 420,470,or 520 would be the best bet if power is an issue.

This card supposedly uses the 6800U voltage too.
Well I ordered one on friday night, and it shipped on on sunday!!!
Damn I think newegg is the only company that ships out on sunday?!
Well newegg is 10miles from my house, so fedex will get it here in a few hours :D
I'll get back to you on my results!!!

Read the reviews, not one person has got their's with only 12 pipes.
They're all coming with the full 16 pipes and 6 vertex shaders!

This card is the best deal going by far:
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=1413019&enterthread=y

These are 6800Us with the core at 325, only difference. To repeat: 16/6, 1.1GHz memory, Ultra PCB. If you peel the LE sticker off it's an Ultra package.

There is no other card I would even bother to consider if I needed a card.
