I've heard Alienware, Falcon-NW, and Voodoo are pretty good, but I want more imput on this.

I have an Alienware. Great PC and better pricing for the same thing you'd get at Falcon Northwest.

You can save money tho buy building it yourself jsut buying all the aprts from like Newegg. Spec out a PC at like Alienware...make note of the parts and then go shopping at Newegg and see the difference. Falcon Northwest would cost even more. However, if you want a warrantied WATER COOLING rig, Alienware also has their ALX.

Yeah, build it your self and save some $

If you can, building one yourself is the best choice, but typically, I think either Falcon or Voodoo.

Like everyone said biuld it yourself if you can, but otherwise I'de get an alienware with an amd64 in it for gaming.

I am. That's who. ;)
Well, around these parts anyway. :)

Build yourself.. but if not, Alienware.

10-17-04, 10:48 PM
^ same, build it but if you have to, Alienware it.

Dell by far ;)

Falcon Northwest or VoodooPC

Compac or Hewlitt Packard. Get an Intel P2 and play on floppies. There, I'm out...

10-18-04, 06:03 PM
alienware/abs/falcon northwest...

I am partial to dell for one reason...

they have good support if something goes wrong... I don't think anyone else has accidental damage coverage for your physical components... I know the other system builders like HP sure as hell don't...

10-18-04, 06:12 PM
Anything but Compaq. :)

10-18-04, 06:25 PM
compaq == HP now... HP bought em out i think... or merged or something...

10-18-04, 06:33 PM
Well hopefully the quality has gone up then. Because Compaq, especially the Presario, typically means POS IMO.

10-18-04, 08:23 PM
Yea.. they still suck..haha

10-19-04, 01:27 AM
Bah...stay away from anything sold at Best Buy, I would nab a Voodoo, they are a little expensive but damn looking good.

For me though, I like to go the extra mile and build myself. You can make some crazy computers if you build yourself. Goto Hard Ocp and find some of the projects that people have done. Surprising! :ORDER:

Alienware is good but way overpriced. Look at ibuypower.com or cyberpower.com good rigs close to what what you would pay to build your own.

Yeah they do suck, but I saved my sisters one by putting my old 9800XT in it for her. Now I just gotta teach her how to setup AA and AF to take full advantage of it.

I like Falcon NW and Voodoo.
My 3rd would be Dell.

Well last year i bought my first Alienware rig. It for me was money well spent. The tech support and customer service i have received have been top knotch.

Never a problem with it in 12 months, and its so configurable for later if you want to add and upgrade new hardware.

I would agree there expensive, but its a quality service they offer. Btw, i have already built 2 puters myself, but wanted to try an alienware.
