The date of that review comparing 7 pcie cards is listed as 10/18/04. There are no 6800 series included and the author tries to claim that 6800 PCIe cards are not available, YET we have a member here in the forums that BOUGHT TWO OF THEM...ie two 6800U pcie cards and has received them already. The review includes 4 ATI and 2 of them are x800XT's(pcie) and puts those as well as x700 and x600 against a 6600GT, 6600 and a quadro fx3400(all pcie). Well of course the results are going to show ATI's x800ST's on top in D3D games since there is no comparable cards on nvidia's side in the review EVEN THO they are in retail. The review attempts to claim that 6800 series are not in market yet which is obviously false since our own member here has two of them and posted pics of them.

Anyhow, just kinda yanked my chain some. Even without the top line 6800's in that review, the 6600GT faired extremely well even against the x800XT and even in D3D games. The 6600GT wiped the floor with the high end x800XT when it came to opengl, but we all kinda expected that anyhow, but was nice to see. Especially for those that cant afford, or dont want to pay 400+ for a vid card, the 6600GT is the way to go for around $200.
I jsut wish there had been a 6800U and a GT included(pcie) for real comparisons as it is possible at this date to do so.

Yeah we have ONE person that owns 2. The x800 XT PCI-E is available for quite some time now and even in better quantities than the AGP XT PE part i think.
I'm sue more and more 6800 U PCI-E's will show up soon though.

they probably couldn't get hold of one even though they are vendors themselves so though heck why not include a NV40GL..almost the same type thing

Isn't that Quadro 3400 for all intents and purposes a 6800GT?

6600GT is gonna be a big for the midrange users. That guy btw didnt lie, we saw the box with the PCIe and the card as well..i assume the article was actually done before the cards got out..they also used the 66.xx series drivers, which cauld mean they didnt get the 6800 PCIe cards at that time..

Besides nvidia has a good reason to hold back on there 6800 PCIe cards..they are probably perfecting the SLI even more ^_^
