Ello guys got a high problem tryed overclocking my system by 10% yesterday. It booted to windows. Got to login screen. entered my password and I got a lot of registry warning, then a blue screen.
Now if i start it in safe mode or normally as soon as I enter my password i get a blue screen and it crashes. Tryed last known good configuration.
But if I log on as admin It boots fine but obviously none of my tweaks are working etc. I have tryed to access my normal user login but i get access denied.
Im using an old image at the moment
Please help

I believe RAM, if an overclock goes south, can corrupt data similar to that (I think). At least you had the foresight to back up (Bravo).
You could try Windows Restore. It's decent at fixing the registry for you. That would probably be your best bet.

Reset everything back to stock, try to back up your data, reformat, then forget you ever tried overclocking.

lol yep
but if you must, download this http://www.memtest.org/download/1.27/memtest86+-1.27.floppy.zip create a floppy and after trying new Overclock Bios settings always TEST your memory before trying to enter windows.

It makes me laugh that some of you insist on making me look like a bumbling idiot just because somthing went wrong. I think your all forgetting that no matter how careful you are things can happen that are unexpected. Hence I try in small incriments each time and benchmark each incriment.
I'm not going to go through the normal route of saying oh yeh I have been tweaking computers for years as I dont have to justify myself.
For the people that have tryed to help (which is a few) I say thanks for the support, which is what I thought what these forums are for.
Unfortunately yes I am using 2 sata drives in striped mode, which may make it more difficult. It may take a little trial and error to get it working but this is the best way to learn.
Rant off =)

What mobo are u using I've heard that nforce 2 boards often have problems with corruption/stability when a overclock is attempted with sata drives thats all. By the way your not who I though you were but oh well, its all good.

I've heard that some boards require the jumpers to be reset after a failed overclock. Don't really know if it would help or not.

Specs are AMD 64 3500
1024MB DDR 400 cl2
geforce 6800ge all vp working but only 12 pipes. oc to 425 core 1.2 memory
Asus A8v
2*sata raptors in striped mode.
I have a hdd spare before i had the raptors which has everything on. will use that upto the weekend and then see if I can fix it, if not I will just use my image. Never tryed using an image on a raid configuration before, hope its easy enough!
