Jennifer Lopez (news) is engaged to be married to actor Ben Affleck (news), the singer-actress revealed during a television interview to be aired later this week.

The announcement, made during an interview with Diane Sawyer of ABC News, follows weeks of media speculation which was heightened earlier this month when Lopez showed off to television cameras a pink diamond on her ring finger.

The two met on the set of mob comedy Gigli last year and also recently co-starred in a romantic comedy Jersey Girl. Both films are due to be released next year.

Californian Affleck, 30, who has never been married, will become 32-year-old New Yorker Lopez's third husband.

The couple cannot be married until Lopez's divorce from her second husband, dancer Cris Judd, is finalized in late January. Lopez filed for divorce in late July, citing irreconcilable differences after less than a year of marriage.

Report has circulated that the couple may marry on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, and Lopez confirmed during the interview they visited a Boston church together recently.

The interview, taped recently in Manhattan and Lopez's old Bronx neighborhood, will air on Wednesday on ABC television's "Primetime: Special Edition."

Lopez turned to Judd after splitting with long-time boyfriend, rapper Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, during his much publicized trail in New York on weapons and bribery charges. Combs was later acquitted.

Her first marriage to Ojani Noa ended in divorce in 1998 after about a year.

Affleck, who shared a best original screenplay Oscar with long-time friend Matt Damon for the 1997 movie Good Will Hunting, checked himself into a clinic for treatment of alcohol abuse last year.

Alright, did that really need to be said? I mean common, why did the journalist feel it was necessary to include that kind of personal information? It had no bearing on the story what-so-ever.

Based on Lopez's track record, I give this about 2 years. Celebrities have no social skills.

I wanna know why the journalist felt it was necessary to include any information about them getting married. I could care less, and Im sure quite a few other people feel the same way.

I dont know what it is with actors and stuff that makes people want to know every little detail of their life. They are just two more people.

Hey, 6 months of Jennifer Lopez is better than nothing ;) Aslong as he made her sign a prenup so she won't walk off with half his estate after the divorce he is set.

LOL, these marriages never last and Affleck seems like a decent guy. I wonder why he wants puffys left overs and that last dude she was married to. Lopez is pretty sweet but she has a lot of mileage on her if ya get my drift. A bit nasty if ya ask me.

I think it's time for Jennifer Lopez to change her name again so she can try to catch up with Sean Combs... Hmnnn J-ho is starting to sound appropriate :p

You can buy this stuff called "shrink creame" that can make even a woman as worn in as Jennifer Lopez feel like a fresh 18 year old :)
