I called eVGA today and the guy I talked to said it should be available at the end of this month.

I'd rather have two 6800 Ultra's, but a pair of 6800GT's would still give great performance.

Me too, and we have seen how close the GT's can get to the Ultras with a proper overclock. I am thinking two GT's at 400-415/1.15.

FYI folks a 6800GT in the PCI-e format is called a 6800 GTO.

AFAIK the 6800GTO is an OEM version of the 6800nu in PCE-e format

Hmm, I stand kinda corrected...

I had read mentionings of the GTO having 4 quads, but after some reading @ [h] about this I've found that basically all of them came as 3 quad... with a meduim to high success rate on the softmod. There was however some talk of some of the GTO's coming as 4-quad though,

I ganked this from Guru3d and hosted it imageshack. It was part of the PCI-e GT preview they did, so it is not my photoshop!

I remember the GTO is only comes with Dell comps or something like that, its a GT card with a modifcation to something..i cant remember what it was, kinda like a budget GT i think.

PS: Yeah i remember that picture :), i think i saw that actually in a normal AGP review..but they seem to use that picture in everything thats GT related now.

Evga has 6800GT pci express for sale on their site but they are all back ordered most of the cards seem to be going to big pc makers like Dell, etc.... matter of fact most of the new cards are going to them. I have seen only a few cards reaching online retailers. If your lucky you can get one if your very lucky you can order two before they go out of stock again! (crazy)

It's a 6800 with 12 pipelines but clocked at 350/900MHz

Yeah the prices for these things are outrageous. I'm building my younger brother a mini cube pc for christmas and I can't find any socket 939 boards with AGP so this 6800GT is the only option.

U guys think the pcie 68GT's will be down to $400 before christmas?

We had a few of these in stock last week... I think they should start becoming more available, and more affordable, within the next few weeks.

Yeah Nvidia said they would make the PCIe high end cards more available when they canned NV48 so I believe you're right.
I hope you're right.

Where do you work? Do you have a website?

I definitely want a pair of Ultra's, but there's no way I'm going to pay more than $600 each. I'm finding 6800GT's tempting, but I'm trying to be patient and wait for Ultra's.
