View Full Version : 65.73 bad in 3dmark?

I used to use the 66.51 drivers however switched to 65.73 due to most people saying how they looked better. My 3dmark score has just gone down about 500 points however. Now i the only reason this bothers me is i just changed some hardware, and im wondering if thats the reason the score is down so much. I would test myself, but alas im away for a long time starting now.

66.xx drivers are faster than 65.xx drivers in 3dmark05. You wont see any performance differences in games tho (at least noticable ones ;))

Oh trust me i realize that. Im sticking to 65.73 regardless. I was just wondering whether or not the hardware made the score change or the driver.

Just say no!

If rendering quality matters to you, 65.73 give the best of any 6x.xx so far.

yes, the 65.73's are slightly slower than, say, the 61.77's on 3dmark '05.

was getting about 11,400 3dmarks w/ 61.77, went to about 10,900 with the 65.73's (roughly corresponds to the 500 point decrease you were referring to).

Gladly take the tradeoff, however, as the 65.73's IQ seems to be superior to the 61.77's.

and that's really what it's all about.

I switched from the 66.72 to the 65.73 because of the wierd IQ in CS:S ( white lines n' crap )

The 66.81 have better quality, with the new 66.81 WHQL i noticed that things ran alot smoother/closer to 65.73 FPS in CS Source.

To get rid of lines, alt tab to desktop, then go back to the game, the lines will be gone :O.

A few games with 4xaa have trouble like WAR3 for example..unplayable fps.

Force refreshrate kills 20-30 fps off in cs source for me :O.

Other than that it is a pretty good driver i would say, just cant waiti till nvidia irons out those bugs, for now i will stick with 66.81 since in cs source 4xaa dosent seem to be effected.
